1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? I find myself taking comfort in listening to a lot of ballads/slow-jams during the winter season. Maybe that's normal, I dunno?!
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? I know the beauty of music is that it can do both, but I find myself going to music for comfort more than anything else.
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? For me, I tend to go more towards anything that's soulful or R&B-tinged over genres like rock, dance, pop, even though I like all genres.
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? It's a genuine mix for me. I do find myself getting increasingly nostalgic the older I get.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Ballads for me.

1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? No
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? Neither, I listen to music as a way to break the silence
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? Mostly yes, mainly rnb, or latin
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? It depends, some of the music I chose to listen to as a child / teenager I still enjoy. The music that my parents listened to and I had no choice in when I was growing up I don't enjoy.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Up tempo

1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? Yeah, I notice that I gravitate more towards certain favorites in certain parts of the year. I also think some albums (which are not blatant seasonal records) just have a spring/summer, autumn or winter feel.
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? Both
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? Primarily funk, r&b, soul, classic rock, blues rock, some country
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? Growing up I already primarily listened to music from before my time. I still do now, though it's usually not the same songs that I listened to when I was younger.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Hmm, difficult. Probably something uptempo if I really had to choose.

1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? Yes. During spring and summer I prefer more light and fun music. For example, out of MJ's catlog I prefer to listen to OTW, Thriller and Bad during summer and HIStory during autumn and winter. Dangerous and Invincible are less seasonal. LOL. Also from other artists I prefer fun and upbeat music during spring and summer and I am more open to darker themes or more melancholic music during autumn/winter.
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? Both. But typically rather to uplift me.
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? Pop, soul, R&B and funk. I also like some classical. But it'd be easier to name the genres that I don't like (hip-hop - especially modern, electronic).
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? Yes. There's very little music from the 2000s on that I really like.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Up-tempo.

1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? Absolutely. During the winter months I am more drawn to darker, brooding music or ballads. The rest of the year it's a mix.
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? Like everyone, it's a mix of both. But music has definitely helped comfort me during some of lifes harder times. I find it soothing for the soul.
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? I have a bit of a fetish for classy, lavishly produced, soulful ballads, stuff like Take A Bow by Madonna, YAML, Don't Walk Away and Why by MJ (I love Babyface's songwriting for MJ/Madonna). I love a bit of faux-gospel, stuff like Keep The Faith, Cry and MITM. I am also drawn to a lot of funk music, great basslines, slap funk bass, scratchy percussive rhythm guitar parts, found in the catalogues of MJ, Prince, Chaka Khan, George Clinton etc. And I also love a lot of classic rock and metal bands.
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? Music from my youth pretty much consisted of MJ, Janet and Prince. I've expanded my horizons a lot since then, but most of the artists/band I've discovered in my adult years have been going since the 70s/80s at least. The only newly released music I listen to is generally from those veteran artists who are still making music.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Ballads for sure, but I'd miss the uptempos.

In terms of MJ, the only record I find seasonal is Invincible. I love listening to it in the winter, in part because I have vivid memories of it coming out this time of year. But also there's quite a bit of, dare I say, easy listening stuff on the record, which is very listenable this time of year. My favourite MJ album is HIStory but is probably my least listened to, mainly because it's special to me and I don't want to whore it too much. The rest of his albums I can listen to at anytime or in any mood. MJ is definitely one of my "comfort blanket" artists, someone I find myself drawn to when I need some kind of sonic hug. Tori Amos is another one of those for me as well.

1) Do the changing seasons affect your listening habits? Not really. I like to play a lot of carefree, uplifting music all year round. Whilst I love the album, I rarely listen to HIStory, just because there's enough shit in life to drag us down.
2) Would you say you listen to music more to uplift your soul or to comfort you? Uplift, definitely.
3) Is there a certain style/genre that you gravitate more towards over others? I'll give anything a go except for hard rock and heavy metal, which I find too alpha-male for my tastes. We get it - you like to growl like a caveman to compensate for the fact that you have a micro-penis. No need to inflict your horrid screaming on the rest of us!
4) Out of all the music you love, do you find yourself getting more enjoyment from the music of your youth over music that was released in your adult years? I listen to both new and old.
5) If you had to only listen to up-tempos or ballads for the rest of your life, which would you choose? It's a ladies prerogative to have both.
