I spend it with family. it was nice. way better than last year there was so much going on last year. Christmas is almost over here where i live. 2 days ago America had a power outage. the whole county was losing power because of the bad weather. it was down to 0-. we never had bad weather like this in decades. some areas got snow. we had to spend 2 days in a cold house. it was awful. but we made it through. Christmas Eve night the power came back on. we are feeling better. we just need to get our bodies build up again. staying 2 days without power is no joke.
hope everyone had a nice Christmas. βββ

So how was everyones Christmas? I wimped out on the day and went to my dads as plain old Russ. My brother is quite judgemental and I just didn't want him to spoil the day for me.

As I expected. I cooked and cleaned and hosted. They left yesterday, so now its round two of cleaning and putting the house back together. It was lovely to have my sister and her family but its hard when all the work falls to me.

I hope they reciprocate your kindness and effort by taking the hosting duties off your hands in future years? My Christmas was a mixed bag. I had to take my cat Oscar to the vets to be put down on Christmas eve, which put a major dampener on my enjoyment of the whole thing. We tried to make the best of it on the day for my Dads sake, as this was our first Christmas without my mum, so we all wanted to make it as nice for him as possible. It was sad coming back to our empty house on Boxing Day though with no Oscar to greet us.

My mum is getting to the stage where she is just relies on me for hosting, she is able to do things but she prefers not to, so I just end up doing things. Oh gosh, sorry about your cat, thats not a good way to start Christmas. I remember the first year without my dad, its hard knowing theres someone missing who was here the year before. It does get easier, each year the memories make you cry less and smile more.
