metro.co.uk/2017/10/07/little-richard-calls-gay-relationships-unnatural-two-decades-after-coming-out-6983887/Little Richard calls gay relationships ‘unnatural’ two decades after coming outLittle Richard has denounced homosexuality, two decades after he publicly came out as gay. The rock ‘n’ roll legend said in an interview with Penthouse in 1995 that he has been ‘gay all [his] life’, despite previously saying homosexuals were ‘sick’. However, he has now gone back to those feelings, and said in a rare interview that gay relationships are ‘unnatural’. During an interview with Christian TV network Three Angels Broadcasting Network, the 84-year-old suggested that he was no longer gay due to his religious beliefs. The Tutti Frutti singer said: ‘Anybody come in showbusiness, they’re going to say you’re gay. Are you straight? Are you a homosexual something? They’re going to say it. ‘But God, Jesus, he made men, men, he made women, women, you know? And you’ve got to live the way God ants you to live.’ Richard added: ‘I’m a sinner, but we all have sinned’, with the hosts nodding along. The legendary showman later said: ‘You know, all these things. So much unnatural affection. So much of people just doing everything and don’t think about God. Don’t want no parts of him.’ Little Richard has in the past discussed his varied sexual history, boasting of his love of orgies in several interviews.

So what do we think? Senile old man feeling like he must repent for his promiscuous past now that he's knock, knock, knocking on heavens door? Or do you think it is possible to denounce your sexuality?

It seems like he grew old, is afraid of death and turned to religion which made him a bigot.

It's not possible to be 'not gay' just because you have become religious. You can try to repress it but that's not very healthy. Many people today still deny their sexuality. Does God want people to force themselves into heterosexual relationships? Nobody deserves that.
Now that he has 'sinned', does he expect to be suddenly cured or forgiven or what? Lol

Yes, turning gay people heterosexual just doesn't work. Those Christian gay-conversion prorgams basically just make them repress it. (And the more honest ones will admit that it never goes away, they just repress it.)
It's not just gay people, though. Prince too became kind of a bigot when he turned very religious. To the extent that once he refused to perform with Wendy and Lisa because they are lesbians. Later on he eased up a bit again, and I think they made their peace.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, this is not the first time he's denied his homosexuality/bisexuality.
He's been doing this since the 60s. This is like the 132nd time

Didn't Bowie too kind of went back and forth on whether he is or isn't bisexual? In the 70s he said he was, but then in the 90s I think he said in an interview that was more an act because it was the "in" thing at the time. I will have to look it up to be precise.
But I think with Bowie you can see it that he did it as a part of his image, but with Little Richard it just seems like a man who is trying to deny himself because of religion.

It is a shame, he has been poisoned by the lies of hate churches. Born again money churches have a lot to answer for.
I love Richard and his music and his whoooooooooo!!!!! Shut up!
But he lives in the 19th century, he lacks educationa nd believes the morass of the masses, Karl Marx would have a field day with him. It is all so sad, as he is a gay icon with his flamboyance, campness and his history, plus how he says "Shut up" and that a drag queen called Kennedy Davenport did a good send up of him on Rupauls Drag Race Season 7, along with Jamie Foxx imitating him on Living colour back in 1991. It is sadder as a gay/bisexual man in his 80s he could thrive in his status as a gay icon but chooses to hide behind this bullshit ultra protestant hate church cultism.
This is why Christianity sucks and why it angers me, all this hate and ignorance and how it used. Homosexuality is natural and all through nature, tell that to your damn stupid God.

At most I think, Bowie was a bit bi curious in the 60s/70s. Bowie has always struck me as largely heterosexual. I think he chose the gay thing as he was flamboyant and his androgynous image led to questions. But it was the hippy/glam era and androgyny was in fashion, between 1967 and 1975 many males wore make up, shiny glimmer and sequin clothes, dresses, kilts, ponchos, had long hair and even permed 17th century style dos with Queen and other groups. Shit even Jagger went through a bi phase. DB did come out as a homosexual in January 1972 before the Ziggy era saying he was gay and always had been, yet he was married and had a son (Even though Angie was furiously bisexual herself), but I still think at most he was bi and it was a publicity gimmick that worked as before Ziggy, he had only had one hit (Space Oddity #5 Sep 1969) and it hit becuase of the moon landing , great albums like Hunky Dory when initially released where colossal flops, and his first post Space Oddity hit was Starman which only reached #10 in the UK in Sep 1972. At most he may have been bi, as he mentioned having sex with men in the 1960s and his manager then Ken Pitt who was openly gay, claimed DB walked around the house naked and they had sex. Yet by 1983 Bowie was claiming he was straight and always had been, merely he liked hanging around gays and wearing drag occasionally. I did not really care what his sexuality was, his music and persona attracted me. He kind of got the same talk and rumours that Prince did a decade later, even though unlike Bowie Prince always denied it and got very upset hiding behind the little Richard style hate Pentecostalism that poisons many impressionable and less intelligent people. Coming out may have helped Bowie in the UK in 1972, but when Elton John revealed his bisexuality to Rolling Stone reporters in the USA in Oct 1976, his career slipped, from #1 hits and Top 5 singles, he went to have 3 Top 20 hits in the next 5 years as right wing born again Yanks had no time for gay singers and felt deceived by Elton. (Boy George never properly came out until after CC's success in the USA). He owned up to drag and being bi as in paying for sex and no more in those days. Because androgyny enjoyed a brief revival in the early/mid 80s he got away with it. Elton did not emerge as 100% gay until 1992 and now his gayness is his calling card and cause celebre! It upset many gays though, I have had several gay people who hated Bowie after he came hetro and one would not even let me play his music. I told them they were being totally pathetic. I listen to music by people of all sexualities unless they are openly homophobic like say Buju Banton - a dumb and homophobic Jamaican ragga singer who sang about killing gays and saw ragga die a lonely death outside of Jamaica in the early 1990s, along with another ragga artist - Shabba Ranks, who had a few hits in the USA/UK in 1992 also said the same shit and found himself blacklisted in the UK. Before you accuse me of being racist (A sport on Prince org), I also avoid WHITE people death and black metal as many artists bring up Mayhem in which a Norwegian metaller killed a homosexual and sang about in some song (Sounds hard, as their singing is grunting and growling to an impossibly fast drum line while some long haired trash head bones away on a guitar. Fortunately now, music with openly anti gay lyrics barely makes the chart now and only some rap music uses this and there has even been an increase in pro gay rap music and rappers countering the hate.

Little Richard might be in a different space and place at this time of his life who knows
he has been low key over time, though what is said and what is going down are usually two different lanes.
who really knows
