Steve Coogan is Jimmy Savile, beloved TV host and the worst sex offender in UK history.
Trailer looks quite good if you can stomach that kind of thing.

The very fact that it's the BBC who have commissioned this is shocking in its poor taste, lack of accountability and self-awareness.

He ran the London Marathon year after years well into his 70s although there have been stories that he cheated. I’m not comparing Eddie Izzard to Savile but when a lot of women pushed back on Izzard insisting he’s a woman now and wanting to be an MP many of Izzard’s defenders responded ‘But Eddie is so kind and generous, she runs all those marathons to raise money for charities!’ When an organisation has a financial relationship with an individual they will overlook many suggestions about inappropriate behaviour without a basic investigation. |

Watched about five mins of it. weird seeing steve coogan playing him. Like a bizarre comedy skit tbh. And why the program was commissioned???.
My family are from Leeds where savile was from. They Have stories of him driving around in his rolls royce picking up friends back in the day. Same with groupie girls in the popular discos at the time. But then they were all at it back then.he ssarted as afamous radio DJ then moved into t.v presenting. Made loads for charity. Worked in hospitals and was given free run of the place. No one would say no.gotin with charles and diana. Saw him s few times myself as he lived overlooking the cities main park and he would come in the cafe.,everyone thought he was abit odd (not that it makes you a you know what) he played the role of a eccentric oddball but it was all a part of his “act” tbh nowadays you would go more with dementia!
