DSTGYE - Genius, top 10, possibly top 5 in all time greatest MJ tracks. 10/10
Rock With You - Timeless groove and one of his most exuberant vocals on record. 9.5/10
Working Day & Night - Great funky number, like a precursor to WBSS. 8/10
Get On The Floor - the most underrated OTW cut. Love everything about this one. Especially the "get up, wontcha gone get down" chant. 9/10
Off The Wall - possibly wins the award for the most outrightly catchy poppiest track in his catalogue? Good stuff. 8/10
She's Out Of My Life - not one I listen to a great deal, but you can't deny it's a bona-fide classic. Acoustic demo slays the original though. 7/10
Girlfriend - Better than it's given credit for, but when Paul McCartney writes the weakest song on your album, you know you're going places. 6/10
I Can't Help It - Oooh yes, love everything about this one. From the chilled late night/early morning vibes, Stevie's jazzy chords to MJs flawless delivery. Perfection. 10/10
It's The Falling In Love - MJ and Carole's voices sound great together on this and it's a certified toe-tapper. Definitely a slept-on gem from this album. 8/10
Burn This Disco Out - Probably my least favourite of the uptempo tracks, it feels a little generic in places. Would've preferred Sunset Driver over this. 6/10

DSTGYE - Among my top 10 MJ songs. 10/10
Rock With You - It's a tiny bit below DSTYGE for me, but still a 10/10. I find myself enjoying it recently more than I used to.
Working Day & Night - One of the underrated gems in MJ's catalog. I also love the concert version. 10/10
Get On The Floor - I discovered the greatness of this song a few years ago through that remix that used an alternative take with an extra verse and MJ laughing. That's when I started to more appreciate the infectious bass line, MJ's use of his vocals as a percussion etc. Another song that's heavily underrated IMO. I think this too would be among my Top 10 MJ songs, that's how much I love it. 10/10
Off The Wall - Another 10/10. This song always cheers me up.
LOL. A perfect 10/10 so far. It's true. Up until this point the album is 10/10 perfect.
She's Out Of My Life - 7/10. I prefer the demo version of it. That has more of an intimate feel to it.
Girlfriend - 7/10. I don't think this is the weakest song of the album. I actually think it's a pretty fun, catchy song. I love the cheeky lyrics.
I Can't Help It - 10/10. "MJ goes jazz" is what this song is to me. I love it.
It's The Falling In Love - 5/10. This is the weakest song to me on the album. I don't know but it never did much to me.
Burn This Disco Out - 6/10. Slightly better than the previous one, but it's the weakest Temperton song on any MJ album to me.

DSTYGE - Echo everyone elses sentiments, top 3 MJ for me, easy. 10/10 Rock With You - Adore this song and especially his performances of it on the Bad tour. One of the coolest songs he ever made. 10/10 WD&N - That bass, RIP the great Louis Johnson. But MJ is funky on it too. Whenever Prince fans say MJ weren't funky, I direct them to this and they're quiet. 10/10 Get On The Floor - How can you not love this song? I think this was the inspiration behind Brothers Johnson's Stomp. Both killer jams, but this came first. 9/10 Off The Wall - Such a funky and energetic track - great falsetto from MJ. 9/10 She's Out Of My Life - A master class in balladry. Often covered, never bettered. 9/10 Girlfriend - Definitely underrated by the fanbase. A fun, breezy track, not meant to be taken too seriously. It has a killer hook and MJ sounds exquisite. 8/10 I Can't Help It - The song Pharrell has been trying to write for 30 years. Third best song, after DSTYGE and RWY. 10/10 It's The Falling In Love - Another underrated one. There is not a single dud on this entire record. ITFIL is so smooth, a true disco-ballad hybrid. Few seem to know that it's actually a cover, but it fits perfect on OTW. 8/10 BTDO - Surprised to see BTDO slander on here! This is a top 5 OTW track for me. Love me those horns and MJs vocal quirks. Shame on respect77 and MattyJam . 10/10

Dstyge-a killer hook with the strings, as well as the bass, percussion and vocals. An amazing starting track
Rock with you-smooth and melodic, the grooves are so timeless
Working day and night-amazing percussion and vocals. The piano hook and horns are great
Get on the floor-amazing melody and horns. I also am reminded of it when I hear the song stomp
Off the wall-great hook and melody, the layers of vocals in the chorus sounds great
Girlfriend-good melody, dramatic lyrics
She’s out of my life-beautiful piano hook and ballad. One could feel the emotions from the vocals
I can’t help it-beautiful pianos and vocals, very soulful and timeless
It’s the falling in love-good melody and vocals, especially the yeah yeah yeahs and key change towards the end
Burn this disco out-great horn hooks and melody. Though it’s supposed to be disco, it has a timeless quality to it

Happy coincidence that I listened to Off The Wall earlier today while working.
1. Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - Utterly ridiculous "first" solo song for write/release. Even thinking up of that intro alone. Never fails to get me motivated. Mention to Greg for that AMAZING break down too. 10
2. Rock With You - Arguably my favourite MJ vocal performance with Perfect, PERFECT production. The musicianship is so tight and the magic really spreads with this song. The perfect team of Jackson, Jones, Swedien and Temperton begins. 10
3. Working Day and Night - Theres something about this song that reminds me of the songs on Bad. The creativity here is just astounding. Again, flawless production and the Bucharest performance of this just elevates it. 10
4. Get On The Floor - great dancing number - that BASS. This song really inspired Triumph I think. 8
5. Off The Wall - The delivery here is what gets me. The band are on fire again, but the change in vocals throughout is amazing. Such a catchy chorus, even catchier verses. Insanely good in '87. 9
6. Girlfriend - a fun song and the start of the Beatles connection. The cover cuts a part of the song but this one is a nice number. 7
7. She's Out Of My Life. Simple, with a powerhouse and not over the top vocal. Gorgeous song that could have been written by MJ himself, you believe him that much. 10
8. I Can't Help it - Silk Chocolate. That vocal, the instantly identifiable Stevie-ness. Just Stevie Wonderful. 9
9. It's The Falling in Love - a nice song but feel something better would have suited here. Very teeny to me, and almost has a generic "mid 80s love duet" quality to it even in 79. 6
10. Burn This Disco Out - WHAT an album closer. It literally burns the vinyl down to the last. Such a great sound (that bass). Really think this would have worked so good live. 8

I've always been an OTW advocate due to how smooth the album tracklist is. I love the songs on Thriller, but I've never cared for it as an album because it's very choppy and it just sounds off when you listen to it as a complete experience beginning to end. With OTW, it's just a pleasure to experience in its totality. I love how Working Day and Night goes into Get On The Floor and It's The Falling in Love goes into Burn This Disco Out.
By comparison, Thriller just feels all over the place and like you're listening to a bunch of hits just randomly cobbled together, even if they are individually fantastic songs.

I'm never that good at describing why I like a particular song but I'll give it a shot.
Ranked from best to worst:
1. DSTGYE > one of Michael's best self-written songs. A timeless classic. Love the falsetto and the bridge. 10/10 2. Working Day And Night > One of my personal favourites, I listen to this song a lot. Great energy. 10/10 3. Rock With You > Love the way his voice sounds in this, so sultry. Whenever I hear this song I think of the music video (he looked so handsome and joyful). 9/10 4. Off The Wall > This one is on par with Rock With You. Really catchy. 9/10 5. Get On The Floor > Don't listen to this one a lot but it's a good song. Fantastic bassline. A step below the top 4 though. 7.5/10 6. I Can't Help It > Pleasant song but another one I don't listen to a lot. The type of song I wouldn't skip on a playlist but I wouldn't look for it. 7/10 7. Burn This Disco Out > A bit generic but a nice song. Reminds me of GOTF but not quite as good. 6/10 8. She's Out Of My Life > I know Michael put his heart and soul in this song but I find it a bit boring. 5/10 9. Girlfriend > If anyone else had written this song I don't think it would be on the album. It's not terrible but it's one of the weakest songs in Michael's catalogue. 4/10 10. It's The Falling In Love > Filler. Haven't listened to this song in years. Just played it again to refresh my memory and it's as bland as I thought. 4/10
