I feel the same, this video made me cringe so much, even though I know he’s innocent. I remember haters saying it made him look guilty And as we all know, haters are the fountain of wisdom.

Don’t make excuses for his laughing, it was not the place to do so even though he was being interrogated. Just not a good look at all, and knowing how much those accusations hurt make it hard to watch Excuses?! No, Linda was providing context there! It's clear to me the Daily Mail primed people to think negatively of Michael there by editing the clips out of context to frame it in the way you're taking it. Michael was clearly in disbelief. Hell, I've smiled when accused of much, much less due to the ridiculous nature of it. I've no doubt I'd have done the same as Michael had I been subjected to the allegations he was and knowing its all ridiculous. Especially as Michael won the case he was being deposed for in the video. 🤔

I don't know how people interpret "guilt" into this. To me it's the opposite. His laugh at the beginning is clearly about someone off camera making him laugh. And later he cringes at those questions re. Brett Barnes and Macaulay Culkin. If you guys are so much into reading body language then don't just stop at "he laughed" but also read the cringe and disbelief, him forcefully shaking his head when he's asked about molestation, Brett and Mac. I never said I interpreted guilt from this clip, but you've got to admit, to his naysayers or people on the fence, watching MJ laughing in response to these allegations is NOT a good look and doesn't paint him in the best light. Sometimes I just think he was incredibly immature and it landed him in hot water. This clip is an example of that, imo.

We talk about the best things on this forum. If the press were to suddenly bring this up, you'd all be in arms. This. This is exactly what I think every time I see a new thread where someone thinks they have a new twist on very, VERY old news. I commented on this recently in the general musings thread: why do MJ fans constantly bring this stuff up? Not only is there SO much else (positive) to discuss but like you said Tony, if some media outlet made an article out of this, Michael Jackson fans would think it's the end of the world.

To electriceyes Only if, according to how the world is working now, you start to build your opinion based on other,s opinions (manipulating titles, comments, etc). I personally know lots of people around me that when they are angry or fed up with an unjust situation their mechanism is laughter. Mine is retreat and I can't speak, and for the others this means guilt.
No, this means nothing. Honestly. Read what the others explained to you, it was taken out of the context. Read with your mind open. Read Michael,s letter to the press in 87, I can't upload nothing now, it was such an honest letter and they made fun of him, read his poem Magical child from Dancing the dream, read the letters for the fans that were ending always with ,,love the children, help them,,. And let these things aside, you will only feed useless questions upon questions, drifting away from the real. He tried to put his message outhere in the most honest way possible, either with his art or in rare interviews. But in our reality unfortunately, the more you try to explain yourself, the more genuine you are, the more ppl seems to be attracted to torn you apart.
To russ Some fans are new and caught in this dirt. It's hard to fight alone sometimes with such heaviness. They need to be guided in order to see the...light. To see what Michael was about, as an artist and human being, that tried to bring positivity to the world.

Wow, what a coincidence! I just watched this today because it popped up in my YouTube feed. The comment section is god-awful. Many people acting like body language experts to support their opinions either way. It’s clearly a clip missing much-needed context. But I agree, the last part of this deposition clip when he reads his note is important, and it's nice seeing him be assertive. I’ve always thought the 1995 prime time interview w/LMP was the best MJ has ever defended himself. He was very confident and articulate, which can't be said for some of his later attempts (for various reasons). Also, this video is very low quality and it seems the sharpness is cranked up, that's why it looks weird. I think he had tape on his nose too, lending to the oddness.

I really believe this is a case of ‚people see what they want to see’.I see an annoyed man who is clearly using laughing as a Defense mechanism (Shaking his Head while laughing, which I also do alot) and who tries again and again to explain himself. He seems very fed up. I mean this wasn‘t even some official Interview on television, this questions had nothing to do With this case- so why do people expect him to react in a certain way when he is in private? I bet he would have never thought this would be uploaded in the internet and Analysed to death. If there were recordings of me saying something weird or Doing something suspicious completely out of context… well RIP 💀 I think the bad quality of the video just added to the Picture of him being a weirdo, so haters had an easy time using this as some kind of ‚proof‘ for their agenda.
