There is a Facebook page called Pop Icons and they have a new poll. You can vote for the best male icon and I really want to see MJ as the nr 1! Right now it's George Michael. You can vote every hour until December 3. www.popiconsblog.com/bestmaleicon.html

As a best male icon? - No, I am voting Prince and if he is not there, then George Michael.

Compared to MJ's back catalogue, both solo and with The Jacksons, plus his revolutionary music videos and his legendary showmanship.... is it even a competition? I can't believe I'm even having to defend MJ in this way on a MJ fanboard. But then I wonder half the time if you just say this stuff for effect and/or to cause conflict?

I don't think anyone should take Triumph's choice seriously. Of course, he can think GM is the bigger, better icon (and we know how he feels about Prince) and that's his prerogative. But something tells me someone is just in his feelings. LOL.

I guess triumph loves to troll people, trolls would write. downright ridiculous, offensive and disgusting stuff to piss others off. He's been successful with the last two to make me feel nauseated sometimes.

Of course I voted for Michael since he's the best and the most versatile artist but after him Freddie and David Bowie were more exciting to watch and are a lot more iconic than George Michael if we talk about British male singers.
Now Prince is number one. π Michael beats him by a landslide in artistry overall.

In all fairness to Triumph (there's not a sentence I thought I'd say), it's fair enough to prefer another artist over MJ & vote for them.
I'm a big GM fan myself and although I massively prefer MJ's work, there's elements of GM I like more.
I do agree though it may have been said to provoke a reaction!

George Michael is great, but he ain't close to MJ on any level in terms of raw talent and charisma.
