Out of all the Jacksons songs, I always found Blame It On The Boogie to be very overrated and one of the worst songs on Destiny. It sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the material on Destiny, probably because it is the sole track on the album not to be written by the brothers and was obviously just drafted in by some A&R guy who probably felt like songs such as The Things I Do For You and Shake Your Body were "too black" and "too funky" to be played by white radio. It's a shame this song is one of the most well remembered Jacksons hits, when they did many far superior tracks on Destiny/Triumph, such as Walk Right Now, Heartbreak Hotel, The Things I Do For You, Push Me Away, Lovely One etc.

I do like it (though the intro always annoys me), but yeah, it's the weakest track on the album.

Yep, it's a catchy, fun song, but nothing earth-shatteringly brilliant or amazing IMHo

Nope-I think it's a great song and the video is wonderful.

Nope-I think it's a great song and the video is wonderful. The video is all about Jackie. That bit 3/4 of the way in where he waltzes from one side of the screen to the other. I seriously don't think I've ever been that happy in my life. π

It's a catchy song, but I agree that it's the weakest on Destiny.

Too bad it's one of the most popular Jacksons songs. Fortunately Shake Your Body and Can You Feel It are superior to BIOTB.

I think it's a pity to change one's opinion on a song because it's better known by the general public. Thriller suffers in this regard too.
I love it, personally. Though I find other songs on Destiny more artistically interesting, for obvious reasons.

I think you all must be hard of hearing. Blame It On The Boogie is one of my favourite Jacksons tracks!

It's the only song from Triumph I ever listen to.
How do you like them apples, bitches?

It's from Destiny, not Triumph.
It's not a bad song by any means but it's sad to me Blame It On The Boogie gets more recognition over stronger tracks on the album just because it's catchy and radio-friendly.

Yeah I feel like Things I Do For You is one of the best songs on Destiny, and radio stations here hardly ever play it. But I love Blame It On The Boogie too much to call it overrated π
