I've met a few famous people over the years. Most of them seemed genuinely nice people. Here are my experiences with a few of them:
- Uri Geller (I was actually in close contact with him for a couple of years, between 2001-2003... we phoned each other, exchanged emails, met several times). He was always very friendly, down to earth, bent several of my spoons lol - and I even got to interview him for a website. We lost contact in recent years, but he was always very kind to me. I remember phoning him when Michael had gone to Exeter in the UK, and asking how he was, because he had fallen at a train station when some fans had grabbed at him. He said Michael was fine, that he'd enjoyed his time in Devon etc. I hinted I wanted a call from Michael but never got one, lol.
- Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone - He performed in a London West End theatre show called Madame Melville, which I attended a couple performances of. I met him at the back stage door twice. He was kinda shy - but friendly - signed autographs, asked how I was, general chit-chat.
- Daryl Hannah (The actress from Splash the movie, Kill Bill etc) - She was performing in London in a theatre show called The Seven Year Itch. She was so, so kind. Very down to earth. I complimented her on her performance and she was almost surprised ("Really?" she asked, "Do you think I did okay? I was so nervous and we had to use a new under study today in the show. Thank you so much," etc).
- Corey Feldman: I met him in a convention in early 2000s. It was basically a quick meet and greet - a photo, autograph, quick hello. He seemed friendly enough, but there just wasn't any time for me to have a conversation with him or anything.
- Last but not least, Geri Halliwell from Spice Girls (Ginger Spice): I met her at a book signing back when I was a young teenager. And I tell you, she was the most friendly, warm, kind person. Gave me lots of time, photos, autographs, focused attention on ME and basically came across as an all-round nice person.
I have also met Psychic Sally Morgan a couple times after her shows; she was nice.
I used to collect autographs, hence why I used to grab opportunities to meet some of these people. I don't collect anymore but it was cool to meet these people.

The closest I've come to meeting someone famous was a local news reader lol.

I met Tori Amos twice. She is very gracious to her fans, and always holds meet and greets before her concerts and will stay and sign and take pictures with every last fan. She doesn't rush people, she stands and listens to each, individual fan and really makes time for everyone. She's a true class act. Here's my photo from ten years ago when I met her. Got a few more grey hairs since then (me, not her):

He can be quite possessive! As for the OP's question, I met Robin Thicke last year -it was brief- and he was a really nice guy. I was surprised at how friendly he was. Not sure why.

In what capacity did you meet him? I was coming off a ride at universal and he was coming in the exit with his kids. I Just said "how's it goin?" to him and he was really friendly and all round nice. It was brief as I say and I can't really remember what he said but he was extremely easy going.

I've had an oddly large amount of run-ins with celebrities. There's certain ones where the meeting was arranged (a meet & greet thing) like Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, Ozzy or Roger Waters. A lot of others were totally by chance, out in the wild type of stuff. 100% honest to God truth, I actually ended up in Eminem's house once, but that's a whole story on it's own lol. It's always strange and takes me back a little bit no matter who it is. For example, I had my back to a stranger once who thought I worked at a store and was asking me questions about some headphones. I was being nice and answering him, then turned around to let him know I don't know much about the headphones and it turned out I'd been talking to Weird Al the whole time. I said "Oh wow! I was turning around to apologize and say I don't work here but now I have to say 'holy shit, you're Weird Al!". He was really cool and apologized for bothering ME which was funny.
Anyways.... I lot of those types of things have happened to me and they're always very cool when they do. My favorite one of all time is probably Robbie Williams. Myself and 3 friends were standing in the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas about 10 years ago when I saw a person I thought I recognized checking into the VIP area. I couldn't quite place him but I was convinced I knew him. I asked my friends and they had no idea, said it didn't look like anyone on they knew. So I just went up to him and said "Dude. I know I know you from somewhere". He slid his sunglasses down a little, laughed and said "Oh, is that right mate?" and I instantly felt like an idiot. I said "Of course I do, shit, you're Robbie Williams" and he laughed really hard. I said "I honestly wasn't trying to bother you. I just really thought you were someone I knew. Like.... personally I mean". We had a laugh about it, going back and forth for a little bit. I eventually let him go and apologized again but he was really cool about it.
The kicker on the whole story above was that when I got walked back over to my friends, I said "Holy shit. It turns out I DID know that guy. Did you guys figure it out?". My friends reply was "HOLY SHIT. WAS THAT JOHNNY KNOXVILLE!?"

100% honest to God truth, I actually ended up in Eminem's house once Omg how? This was back in 2002 or 2003 and I'd worked in Home Theater sales for a long, long time. One of his representatives come in to buy a bunch of equipment. None of those businesses offered install at the time but his rep kept going on and on about how he'd pay cash for one of our guys to go out and install everything. He never said who it was, just that it was a very high profile person and I would definitely know of them, so he didn't want me talking to anyone about it before hand. I was like "Cash for install? Ok! I don't really care who it is" lol. So we set a date and time, then he gave me directions to this gated neighborhood. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to even get in the gates, then the guy met me and took me to the house. I parked and walked into the garage and there's a bunch of HUGE security dudes all with "Shady, LTD" (or something like that) patches on their arms and that's when I started to think "Oh holy shit, this is Eminem's house" lol. The rep told me to follow him downstairs so he could show me where everything was going to be set up. I turned the corner, looked down and at the bottom of the stairway, taller than I am (6'1") is the platinum award for The Marshall Mathers LP". That's when it really hit me and I started to sweat. I figured it was no biggie since I hadn't actually seen Eminem himself, so I just started hauling in equipment and doing my thing. When I got done, I started to explain how it all worked to the rep and he's like "No, you're going to have to explain it to him. I'll fuck it up". So, he radios upstairs and here comes Eminem all casual, hand out to shake my hand, all nice and is just like "Thanks a lot man, how does this all work?". I stammered for the first little bit then got my shit together and walked him through everything like he was a normal dude. We shot the shit for a very short period of time, then I bounced. Very cool guy and very cool story in it's own right but it actually did end there. About 4 years later, I was working for another company and in walks the same rep to buy a TV for "someone". I didn't say anything but he kept giving me a look the whole time we were talking and final said "Where do I know you from?". I told him the story and he was like "Ooooooooh yeah, THAT guy!". So anyway, I sold him a TV and send him on his way. About a week later a FedEx envelope showed up at the store with my name on it. I opened it up and there's a pic of Eminem inside autographed with "Hey Russ, thanks again! Stay cool! E" I thought it was so cool of the rep to even ask Eminem to do that even though I never asked for it

That's a very great story! I wrote in another thread that I like many of Eminem's songs but I don't like some things he has done in his life. But it was very kind of him to give you his picture with his autograph! Just imagine this high profile person was MJ lol, that would have been the best day ever. I have never met a celebrity. It must be fascinating to see them in real life. I am sure we all have a certain image of them in our mind and in reality they act totally different.

I wouldn't have been able to do a damn thing if it'd been Michael. I only got to see him once in concert (on the Bad Tour) and I fainted during the first song! We had tickets on the side of the stage in the upper bowl of the arena and he pointed in our general direction right near the top of Wanna Be Startin' Something and I went down like a ton of bricks haha. I came to in the ER room at The Palace with people asking me a bunch of questions. Stuff like "ARE YOU OK? CAN YOU HEAR ME? WHAT DAY IS IT?" etc. I couldn't figure out what was going on, then I heard Another Part of Me coming from the arena, put it altogether quickly, ran out of the room and back to my seat. A bunch of medical people came running after me and made my mom sign release papers and stuff. The whole I was just like "GET OUT OF THE WAY, IT'S MICHAEL!" haha
