I read something today saying how he is being seriously considered for the role of the next James Bond. Personally I think he is way too young for the role. I think they should go with a female Bond next.

I haven't seen Harry Styles act yet though so I don't know if he would be good for the role. A female Bond would be cool too but I dread the backlash on that one, lol.

I don't think the franchise have the balls to do a female one. Especially seeing as the vast majority of Bond fans are probably men, who fantasise about being James Bond themselves. I think they would risk alienating a lot of their audience doing a female Bond. But it'd be great to see.

Harry Styles showed some good acting in Dunkirk, hell I'd be down for him as Bond. Young, sure, but it'd shake things up a little like you said Linda. It could be a great way to explore Bond in his earlier days as a younger agent.

I think they would risk alienating a lot of their audience doing a female Bond. But it'd be great to see. Would it though? I really never understood this desire to see a totally different Bond. The character is written in a certain way (I think they already tinkered with it too much over the years) - why change it so fundamentally? For instance, I think Daniel Craig sucks as Bond. He doesn't have that typical British charm that's so central to the character (about the only thing that remained constant about him throughout the years). So why would you want to make Bond a female? Why not just develop a totally fresh action franchise from scratch with a female lead character, if there's demand for it? Like you said, fans are invested in characters and might identify with them. Why disappoint them by changing the character so fundamentally? I can't imagine that fans of the Bridget Jones's Diary movies would be clamoring for Brandon Jones's Diary. Or that fans of the Sex and the City franchise would like it if they announced SatC is returning, but now featuring four forty-something males talking about their sex lives.
