His song Sign Of The Times was glorious and his accompanying album was just as good.
His album got a rating of 8.2 on Metacritic. Rolling Stone described it as 'superb' and I never read a single review slagging it off, which is quite something for an ex boy band member to get such critical acclaim. The UK broadsheets and even the NME were favourable.
I was was never into 1D (I generally donโt like boy bands), but he is definitely one to watch for imo.

I did really like his first single, Sign Of The Times, that was a great song. Wasn't so fussed on the other tracks I streamed, so didn't bother checking out the whole album.

It's a fantastic debut album and I wish it was getting more attention (although SotT got a great amount of attention so there is that). For me the standout song was Carolina - the chorus is absolutely infectious! I wish it was the second single or something. From the Dining Table is a beautifully simplistic song too - just the way how it's him and an acoustic guitar for almost 2 minutes, before a violin kicks in and his vocals layer up, with him offering some nice high pitch vocals to compliment too. Great stuff.
I'm really keen to see more from Harry Styles, I'm digging his whole get-up right now and I think he has great potential.

The title of this thread is very wrong. Why? Have you heard the album? It's actually quite good, if you can get past the stigma of him being in a boyband.

Yes, I've heard a lot, it seemed very angst by numbers to me. Very, look at me I'm not in a boyband anymore, I'm a serious musician!!! The guy seems talented enough, but he's surrounded by too much hyperbole at the moment.

Isn't he just a lucky, good looking boy?
Still I liked that song.

If you liked the first single, check out a song called "Carolina", it's even better.

He's being marketed as this sort of musically introspective Bowie type of guy but I find the image and aesthetic a little manufactured. I suppose Kylie went down that road also in the 90's and I love a lot of her catalogue so I might give Harry's album a go at some point.

Yeah, as others have said I feel he's being marketed as something he's not. The songs are decent but I'm not sure how much he had to do with them.

I have listened to it on Spotify last week. I found it boring with no desire for me to listen to it again.

I don't know about best album but I can't argue with Sign Of The Times as best single of 2017, that is an amazing song. I really liked Sweet Creature as well:
All of the ex-1D singers have put out solid songs so far tbh. I was never really into 1D so I don't know much about them, I think that helps because a lot of people don't take them seriously as artists just because they used to be in a boyband. Their loss, I guess.

^ Speaking of, can I just point out how awesome this song is? Also a contender for best song of 2017!
It's soooo good.
