Because wow! I am genuinely surprised. That's roughly 5,800 sales a week. I have a sneaking suspicion that a good proportion of that is from vinyl sales!

I'm not sure, if it's pure sales or not. Aren't vinyl sales make up most of physical sales now, at least for legacy artists? Surely. Thriller is on the top ten lists like "10 albums you need to own on vinyl" so newbies will always grab it. I have like 5 versions of it on vinyl I think!

Yeah, that's exactly why I thought about vinyl making up a good chunk of Thriller's sales. I'm not sure of the ratio for physical sales between CD and vinyl. I imagine CD probably still sells more, but is in decline while vinyl is on the rise.
No doubt lots of legacy albums like that find lots of movement on second hand markets too and aren't incorporated in that figure. None of my MJ vinyls are new - all but one were bought second hand.
