R Kelly has addressed recent allegations that he ran an abusive sex obsessed cult of young women, dismissing the accusations as ‘a bunch of crap’.The Bump N’ Grind singer unequivocally denies claims earlier this month that he lured and detained young women, against their will, at his properties in Chicago and Atlanta and made them call him ‘Daddy’ and perform sexual acts with him. In a brief video posted on TMZ, Kelly, real name Robert Kelly, addressed his fans and assured them that he will be maintaining his scheduled shows. ‘I just want to let all of my fans out there know that despite all of the crap y’all hearing, I will be coming to the East Coast to do my show. And believe me, y’all, it’s a bunch of crap.’ The singer was accused of filming sexual intercourse with the girls, restricting their communications and being abusive to them as punishment for breaking his ‘rules’ when parents of teenage girls, who claim they had not seen their daughters for months, made sensational claims to Buzzfeed News. Following publication of the article, Kelly’s Attorney, Linda Mensch, said: ‘Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him. ‘Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.” Read more: metro.co.uk/2017/07/28/r-kelly-dismisses-sex-cult-allegations-as-a-bunch-of-crp-in-video-to-fans-6814411/#ixzz4oCH6lmZY

Was R Kelly ever convicted of anything? I seem to recall a trial many years ago, was he found not guilty?

I guess she either liked him or was too embarrassed to admit it. I wouldn't want to be in her place either, i assume they analysed the entire video tape.

huge fan of his music and always will be.
he got his issues like we all do and this particular situation is really no different than Hugh Hefner when you think about it.
anyway as far as Aaliyah go her Uncle was R.Kelly's former Manager and also he has Industry Connections which run deep and then some.
so much politics in the business and things aren't always as they appear to be with all the additional red tape.

I will always give people the benefit of the doubt, but don't you find it a bit strange that there is even evidence (video tape) existing? I mean, his own family members and friends have identified him on the tape.
I couldn't enjoy his music at all after I found out.

I think it depends on what the arist did. If he's just a jerk in general I could see past that but I really wouldn't want to support someone (and spend my money on) people who have committed crimes.

Another accuser...
Tues, Oct 24
The list of women accusing R. Kelly of controlling behavior and abuse grows longer. Kitti Jones, a former Dallas radio DJ, tells Rolling Stone she was a victim while living with the singer from 2011-2013.
Jones claims she was beaten, forced to have sex with other women, and forced to obey Kelly's strict rules or face punishment, which included starvation. Rules included what to eat, how to dress, when to go to the bathroom, and exactly how to perform in bed with him.
At one point, Jones said she considered suicide, or murder. "I'm gonna kill myself and it's gonna be his fault," she remembers. "I can either kill myself or kill him. What use am I when I walk out of here?" According to Jones, Kelly would fly girls in for sex, and order her and his other girlfriends to participate. "You can't say no because you're going to get punished," she says. Jones also claims Kelly urinated on two women while she and the women were having group sex.
"He just went back and forth [on them] when he was peeing and told [another girlfriend] to clean it up afterwards,: she says. "That was the worst that I've ever seen." Jones says she left R. Kelly in September 2013. R. Kelly denies Jones' charges.
In a statement his representative declares, in part: “It is unfortunate that Ms. Jones, after public statements to the contrary, is now attempting to portray a relationship history with Mr. Kelly as anything other than consensual involvement between two adults. ...Any claim of wrongdoing of any kind or of mistreatment of any woman by him is false, ill-motived and defamatory.
