Like the 10 favourite albums list, now you have to choose your 10 favourite albums by Prince and Michael Jackson. I will make it hard though . 1.Michael Jackson and Prince solo efforts only - no Jackson 5/Jacksons, Time, Sheila E etc. Must be by the artists and the artist as the main performer (So no 3T or NPG stuff) 2.No greatest hits or live albums 3. No limit on how many albums you include of each, except there must be at least one by Prince and one by Michael Jackson, and unless you include the Motowns, it will be hard to get 9 MJ albums 4. BODF, Thriller25, This is it etc and Posthumous albums of both artists are accepted. 5. If you don't like Prince or don't want to include his albums don't do a list. 6. No unreleased or bootlegs - just legitimately released studio albums only and whole albums don't just choose one disc or side on multi disc albums.
Heres mine
1. Prince - Sign o the Times 2. Michael Jackson - Bad 3. Prince - 1999 4. Prince - Parade 5. Michael Jackson - Dangerous 6. Michael Jackson - Thriller 7. Prince - Purple Rain 8. Prince - Lovesexy 9. Michael Jackson - HIStory 10. Prince - Dirty Mind
Have fun!

I hate pitting MJ/Prince against eachother, because they're so hard to compare. An MJ album was so much more than just a collection of songs. MJ didn't do albums, he did eras. MJ put in as much work into his shortfilms as Prince did into his protรฉgรฉ albums. People look at the comparatively small catalogue of MJ to Prince and use it against him, but I don't think they're seeing the full picture of MJ. He was very much a visual artist. And the quality of his adult solo albums were so impeccably high that he really did create one masterpiece after another, whereas Prince's masterpieces are scattered and sprinkled throughout his 35 albums plus bootlegs.
How can I compare HIStory to Purple Rain or Sign O The Times to Dangerous? Even Prince and MJ's less celebrated works (Emancipation/Rave and Invincible) are highly underrated and have moments of absolute brilliance.
I am such a huge fan of both, both of them have been the two most important musical artists of my life and created the soundtrack to my youth and adult years alike, I simply can't do this fairly.

1. MJ - Bad (my favourite album by anyone ever) 2. MJ - Off The Wall 3. MJ - Thriller 4. Prince - Sign O The Times 5. Prince - 1999 6. Prince - Purple Rain 7. Prince - Around The World In A Day 8. Prince - Lovesexy 9. MJ - HIStory 10. Prince - Parade
As you can see, I'm a big 80s fan of both Prince and MJ. I do like both of their 90s/00s output, but it wasn't as magic as the work they did in the 80s imho.

I agree Michael and Prince had some magical music in the 90s and 00s (10s for Prince and 70s for MJ too), but the 80s was their decade. Well okay - 1991 for MJ, I think Dangerous maintains the brilliance. Any reason why it fails your Top 10 or is it the #11?
