Here’s a question to keep you awake at night...
You have one choice, you can only listen to MJ, including J5 and Jacksons for the rest of your life, nothing else; or you can listen to everything else but no MJ.
I’m guessing we’ll get a male/female split here.
I’m really torn, I guess I’d go for no MJ, but it would be hard. I can’t imagine it really. I’m not sure why I’m being asked to choose to be honest.

All MJ. I can always listen to him, his voice can calm me, cheer me up, heal me etc. So that's a no-brainer.

Very tough. At this point I don't listen to MJ as much but he's defined me more than anyone else. I can't really imagine not being allowed the freedom to listen to him and although I'd possibly go for No MJ, I would imagine missing his music and vocals way too much. If I choose MJ however there's going to come a point where I'm bored to death.
I'll choose MJ even though its a lose lose situation.

I don’t know. All MJ means no Madonna, George, Stevie, Suede, Muse, RHCP, Oasis, Fratellis,, Queen, Janet, etc....etc...
But never hearing those solo albums again.....
On the other hand I’d never have to hear Don’t Walk Away again...

^^That's the thing. I don't think I'd be willing to give up Dylan, Prince, Kate Bush, The Beatles, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, George Michael, Lady Gaga, Queen, and really just about anyone else on the planet who isn't MJ! Fuck it, here's the 6 solo albums, the Jackson's and J5 albums back! I'll miss him but i'll have to get by with Janet and I can look at pictures of La Toya if I'm really suffering withdrawal. Actually, are we allowed read and look at pictures of him? Watch and listen to interviews with him? If so I might actually be alright. I'll miss the crap out of Bad, Dangerous and HIStory like but I'll live.

Really? Or are you just pulling a Quincy? ... telling a lie? I'm not sure I get the reference and it's the second time I've seen you use it!

Don't Walk Away was one of the tracks I loved at first but went off for years. I'm back to liking it again recently.

Don't Walk Away was one of the tracks I loved at first but went off for years. I'm back to liking it again recently. It reminds me of old Motown album tracks. I'd probably choose everyone else. I'd miss MJs music like a family member, but I know 99% of his stuff completely off by heart so id be able to recall it when I want. There's too much out there that I haven't heard yet, and MJs music opened up the doors to so many other good bands, groups and singers to me that I don't think I'd ever be able to forget a single note.

No MJ and honestly, it's not a very hard choice. Yes, I'd miss his music crazily - it's always been an important part of my life. But I would never give up all of music just to be able to listen to him... Sorry Michael....

It would be hard, but it's a pretty no brainer. No MJ.
Michael Jackson, the man, his art, his message, they all mean a great deal to me. Like many of you, I grew up with his music, and it has significant meaning for me as the soundtrack to a lot of my life, being there for both the good and the bad. Almost no other artist has come close to meaning to me what Michael Jackson means for me... but all of the other music in the world? I mean let's get the obvious implications out of the way.
For me, this means no Beatles and if I could never, ever hear them again I would actually go insane. They're the only artist ever to mean as much to me as Michael Jackson, and similarly I've been a fan long enough that they've been playing the soundtrack to my life as well for a while now. Then on top of that you have the god knows how many other artists out there I'm into (my taste in music is quite wide, across many genres both old and new), all dead to me. No more jumping onto Spotify, picking a playlist that suits my mood because it's going to be almost silence until MJ comes on. It's nice to listen to music you just don't know sometimes.
That alone would be enough to persuade me, but then think of further implications. Unless you love your silent films, almost every single movie you watch from now on is fucked up because the soundtrack has to be removed. Can you imagine Star Wars or Indiana Jones without the music? Nooooo thank you. Also no more concerts for you ever. Parties will be awkward too without the music; clubs and some bars too. When you're older and you're at your daughter's wedding, watching her and her new husband have their first dance? In the 99.9% likelihood they don't pick MJ, you're never going to be able to associate that special song with them because you can't hear it. There's a lot of times in life where music is played (out of your control) and all of that will be ruined except for the very tiny percentage of the time they play MJ.
But I also worry because I still have another 65-80 years left on this earth, and if I picked MJ, I worry I'd actually get sick of him after some time and then the whole agony of the situation would cause me to start hating him. Who knows. It would be really, really hard and maybe even painful to never hear Michael Jackson ever again, like innuendo said it'd be like losing a close family member. I'd go insane... but giving up literally every other piece of music in the entire history of the world? It's really a no brainer what to pick, I simply couldn't do that for any one artist.
