Any other fans of the Blade Runner series here? Watched 2049 again last night and it's pefect. Absolutely flawless. I was such a huge fan of the original but this surpassed it, something I never thought possible.
Little afraid that due to the shitty box office (the general public are morons with movies too not just music) that if a sequel was greenlit, it would be very action packed to try get more people in the cinema. I'd be happy if the series was left alone though.

I'm afraid to big it up that much to anyone. A lot of people found it long and boring, But as snobbish as this comes off, I don't think they got it. It's completely different to the first one, but it's tone is so so much closer to the book, which is actually one of my favourite books. It's 2 hours 43 minutes of artistic theatrical beauty. I rarely call a film flawless. I'm so taken aback by how I prefer this to the original, when I was such a fan. Gosling is amazing in it, And Leto redeems himself after a disappointing joker outing. I'd recommend it to the stars and all around them. Each time I've watched it, which is 4 now, A different part really hit me.

Cool do. If you hate it, don't tell me. I won't tolerate it. And block me. Forever.

Incredibly overrated.
Indeed overly long.
Looks lovely though.

Blade Runner 2049 was a masterpiece. You need to go in knowing you're about to witness a very slow paced film, and having a basic understanding of what replicants are helps too. The best cinematography I've seen all year, a fantastic soundscape, it's the film you need to purchase in 4K or on Blu-ray and watch on a BIG screen with an expensive sound system.

The Blu ray is gorgeous. I cracked an watched the leaked 6gig version that had been online and even that was spectacular. The only downside about the sound was the first time I saw it at the cineman, Zimmer's score was so loud that it shook a ceiling crate any time there was a loud bass! And yes, 100% correct about the replicants. It expands on how the Nexus 6 models felt in the original by around ten times.

@innuendo141 I just heard that Jared Leto’s part was supposed to be played by David Bowie?

@innuendo141 I just heard that Jared Leto’s part was supposed to be played by David Bowie? Yeah, Villeneuve wanted him. He would have been amazing, but Leto was flawless as Wallace.
