Apart from MJ...
I was really shocked and stunned by George Michael and David Bowie. I wasn't a huge fan of either, but I always respected them as artists and felt like it was a real tragedy for the world to lose such unique talents.
I was shocked by Prince's passing, but strangely numb to it at the same time, which is odd, because I am a big fan of Prince. I think part of the reason I didn't feel so upset about him is because he was always a very hard figure to relate to. He wasn't very personable with his fans like MJ was, and always gave off this detached, aloof vibe.

The only celebrity death that genuinely upset me and felt personal was MJ's.
I've followed Prince's career for twenty years and of course, was very sad to hear of his death, but MJ's felt like a close friend or family member. Don't care if that sounds unhealthy or OTT, that's really how it felt to me.

I was absolutely gutted by Prince's death. George Michael's hit me hard too. However, Prince's much more so given he's my second favourite artist.

I was surprised by all of them but I was only really shaken by MJ's.

Michael's hit me so hard. I found out when on a night shift at work and I was literally in a daze all night. As soon as I got home, I melted.
Bowie was a heartbreak too.
I know it might sound random but Steve Irwin's death really upset me.

I was hit the hardest by MJ's.... wasn't really attached to anyone else. I just couldn't believe it.

Michael Jackson's hit me the hardest, and the only one I've cried over...and still cry over.
Patrick Swayze's, Whitney Houston's, and Elizabeth Taylor's deaths also saddened me. But again, not to the extent of Michael's death at all. I was greatly impacted by his death, but I just felt sad about the other three.
Brittany Murphy's death was shocking as well because she was so young and promising, and her death is still a mystery, regardless of what they have decided to conclude about it. I loved her in the 90's and early 2000's, but many people seemed to forget about her.
For some reason, Prince's didn't shock me as much and I don't know why. I think it was because he was hospitalized shortly before he passed, and I expected the worst. I like some of his music, but I was never a huge fan or admirer of him overall. However, I respected him greatly for his comments after Michael's death, and the tributes he did in his concerts.

Apart from Michael´s death, I´m still "intrigued" and sad at both Whitney Houston`s & her daughter Bobbi`s deaths. I have been a Whitney fan since my early teens. I did not follow Bobbi´s life, but it is so tragic and heartbreaking they both died so young and under similar gloomy circumstances. I am sure that is no coincidence either.
I was shocked at George Michael´s death as well.
It saddens me whenever someone from Michael´s inner circle dies (Dennis Tompkins, Liz Taylor, Frank DiLeo, ...)

She really never stood a chance with her mother having that many demons etc.

Mike, Prince, Bowie, George Michael (last year was a tough one for losing musical heroes) and Maurice & Robin Gibb.

Don't care if that sounds unhealthy or OTT, that's really how it felt to me. God yeah, I hear you. I think this hurt me more than any other death in my life. I mean, obviously my Grandparents were more important but as they were old it was expected.
I wrote a eulogy after MJ died and I put in that, that MJ brought me more happiness in my life more than anyone outside of wife & kids. Which is true.
George Michael was the one after that. That really upset me.
Prince less so, I think like others have said, maybe as he was less relatable.
When Madonna goes it'll kill me again, like MJ I know that, so hopefully that will be quite a while away next.

It took me a year to come to terms with David Bowie's death, and to be honest, I still can't believe he's gone. Seeing him in Twin Peaks this week and last just makes him the artist that keeps on giving!

Also, my profile picture is what he evolved into. Bowie never stops changing.
