Saw that this was shared on FB: www.facebook.com/XscapeMJJPeru/videos/1654725391229222/Man, what could have been... I always wished we could have heard more from the rehearsals - the TII band was really tight and in my opinion by far the best sounding band that MJ had behind him since the Triumph Tour. Alex Al and Jonathan Moffett played off of each other really well. Cool to hear some parts of songs that did not make it into the film. Rock With You is the absolute highlight here imo. It sounds so good. Dirty Diana is pretty powerful too.

The band played a bit of Who Is It in the film (it's played in the background when they show those aerial actobat artists on those poles).
Makes me wonder if MJ had planned to perform it.

^I think they rehearsed a lot of different tracks, especially in the early stages. There's also a clip of them doing Heartbreak Hotel somewhere in one of the many bonus features that were released (sounded great too).
It'd be interesting to know if Who Is It was ever a serious contender for a spot on the setlist. Michael Bearden did say that MJ kept going back and forth between different songs, and that he was trying to take the results of the fan vote into account as well.

I wonder how much MJ performed beyond what was shown in the film, we know he barely turned up to rehearsals and when he did he didn't perform a lot of the time. Would be interesting to know if he actually performed any alternate songs at rehearsal.

Just saw the clip I posted here again due to another topic and then stumbled on additional audio recordings shared by Moffett. He apparently streamed these live on Instagram last summer. Again, they are just early band rehearsals, but still give a great impression of what DSTYGE, RWY and MITM may have sounded like:

Gosh. Imagine a Stranger In Moscow rehearsal. Even just a rough vocal would be incredible.

Jonathan Moffett just uploaded a HQ band rehearsal of Dirty Diana: Nice find.
Would've/should've been epic.
I wonder if they ever did a full rehearsal of this with MJ?
Isn't this pitched down a key?

I think he did a quick run through just to see what it would be like, there are snippets of it in the blu ray special features, although I think if he sang it would have been used in the film.

I'm hoping there are a few fully rehearsed songs that didn't make the cut, that they were keeping back for an anniversary edition or something. I know they did Dangerous. I really hope there's some more footage of songs with live vocals that weren't used in the original movie. Or maybe that's a pipe dream?
