Paris Jackson defends Photoshopped family portrait: 'It’s nice to dream about what it would be like to have parents'
Paris Jackson has defended an edited family portrait showing her posing with her mother Debbie Rowe and late father Michael Jackson after an actress dubbed it “creepy”.
The 20-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday to share the fan-made picture, which had been obviously Photoshopped to combine a recent picture of Paris with old photos of Michael, who died in 2009 when she was 11 years old, and Debbie. The finished snap shows Paris smiling as she poses in the middle of her parents, with Michael resting a hand on her shoulder and Debbie wrapping her arms around Paris’ neck.
After she shared the image, actress Lori Petty, who played Lolly in Orange is the New Black, replied, “U don’t think that’s creepy AF (as f–k)?” and Paris replied to defend it, revealing that it’s nice to imagine what it would have been like to have a normal family unit.
“No i think it’s nice to dream about what it would be like to have parents, and to have it put into something i can see, even if it’s a fan made edit,” she tweeted.
Lori replied, “If you like it, I love it… Didn’t mean to be unkind,” before adding, “Love you,” to which Paris responded, “Love u too darlin.”

To be fair, it IS creepy. I don't think it's creepy per se. I think it was strange when she had posters plastered all over her bedroom wall like a shrine when she was a teenager. I don't think that was healthy, as she shouldn't look at Michael like a fan. But then, who am I tell her how to grieve? I've never lost a parent.

It’s not creepy. It’s sad.

This makes me sad.... She only just turned 20 a week ago or so, but she's been through so much.

People should let her grieve in her own way. At least she wants to remember him and pay tribute. I don't know why MJ fans seem to criticise Paris more than her brothers, but she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. If she goes too long without mentioning MJ, the usual fans lambust her and then when she does something like this, the same fans come out of the woodwork to give her a hard time. Leave the girl alone - she's not hurting anybody.

I can see how people on the outside can find this to be "creepy" because of the simple fact that MJ is deceased and the picture itself isn't real. However, from Paris' perspective, this is really actually sad. This is representative of a life she likely wishes she could have, but never will. It is truly sad and she probably finds a lot of comfort in these photoshopped pictures. If she enjoys them, then I say let her. Everyone copes differently.
Disclaimer: I don't find it creepy. I kind of like seeing edits of MJ and his kids. MJ's children were robbed for sure, but MJ was also robbed of a life with his children.

It's very much her own version of Mirror Of Erised from Harry Potter.
I don't find it creepy at all.

If I had just seen this on a fan page, I probably would have thought it was creepy too. But seeing it posted by Paris and her poignant words, just made me really sad.

Some fans have gone too far with keeping watch over his children IMO

I find nothing wrong with it. Many of us grew up with only one or even no parents. Having such a thing at least fulfils a fantasy that we may hav ebeen lucky enough to have 2 parents. In this age of bed hopping and romeo men who jump from bed to bed, 2 parent families have become a thing of the past.
There could be a market for this. Bring us nice shots of your biological parents and we will merge them into a nice family photo for you.
