Alex Turner is to me what Justin Timberlake is to many of you here; a total knob head! First 2 Arctic Monkeys albums were good, fuck it, they were great, but Alex Turner morphed into a giant penis. Eh, I'm guessing you didn't listen to the album then. Lol. I'll give it ago but either way the critics and NME, Q will have given it 5 stars? Alex Turner is a bit like Radiohead. He can do whatever he wants and they'll all call it great. |

I'd definitely enjoy an album of songs like Four Out Of Five but I will give it a fair chance. If there's another 2 or 3 pieces to keep me interested or I think are potential growers then yeah I'd say I might enjoy it. I liked the above song instantly so that merits giving it a chance. That's the good thing about having low expectations I guess. You can end up actually enjoying it and being pleasantly surprised. |

I dont hate it, but its a serious misstep. Turners voice is a bit unbearable at times, but definitely not as bad as what id read.
The album needed 1 belter of a single, and 1 transition song that had the DNA of AM and it has neither.
Its like Bowie going from Diamond Dogs to Young Americans. Rock to Plastic Soul. He had 2 huge hits on the album making the transition less abrasive to fans.
All in all, not bad, but not amazing. Its so so far from the quality of AM its unreal.
