Just realised there is no poll for the best Jacksons album. By Jacksons I mean the Epic era (1976 - 1989) and not Michael/Janet solo albums or Motown era stuff.
As I know that Destiny and Triumph will be automatic choices for most of us, I have extended the vote number to 3, so some of the lesser albums get some love. I have decided to include Jacksons Live as well (And no doubt the 3rd place for many of us).
This will be my last poll for a while.
Mine
1. Triumph 2. The Jacksons 3. Destiny

Destiny and Triumph seem to be unbeatable, their highlights. But I see the 3rd choice has been much more interesting. Now where is the love for 2300 jackson Street

Destiny and Triumph are on a par for me and Victory is a brilliant precursor to Bad. Torture and State of Shock are great and Be Not Always is a beautiful vocal performance from MJ. These 3 albums are essential for MJ fans.
Destiny Triumph Victory

The first to spots on my list are Triumph followed by Destiny. I gave the third spot to the Live album because it's my most frequently played.
The Estate should release a full Triumph concert already. I want it more than a Victory concert for sure. I know they have quality footage. We've seen snippets on The One documentary.

Nice to see some love for the often-maligned Victory album on here. I don't even mind some of the non-MJ tracks on there (One More Chance is a stone cold classic).

As you say; even the non-MJ tracks are highly enjoyable. It's a lovely bridge between Thriller and Bad, or as some fans call that in-between era 'Thrad!

Goin Places Destiny Triumph ^^ This is what I chose. Nice to see another fan who appreciates Goin Places.
It's a sad indictment of the average MJ fans ignorance of his pre-OTW work that anyone would pick Victory over Goin Places.

Well that's not entirely true. What you're saying is 'is that fans who choose Victory over Goin' Places are ignorant to his pre OTW work? Not necessarily. Some of us simply enjoy Victory more than Goin' Places. Personally I've always loved the overall 80's aesthetic of Victory. I also love the idea of Victory and it's theme of unity. It's the last time MJ worked with his brothers to that extent -not the entire album mind- and taken at face value the tracks are a great listen. It dosen't make those of us who choose Victory less of a fan or those of you who choose Goin' Places more of a fan; the logic there being, because you've chosen a more obscure album you've delved deeper therefore your a bigger fan or a better fan. No siree! That's just being a music snob.

No siree! That's just being a music snob. Apologies if that's how it came across. I'm just sceptical that half of the people voting in this poll have even listened to Goin Places. I started an appreciation thread for that album a month or two back and it turned out most members on here hadn't even heard the album. How can you vote in this poll if you haven't heard all of the albums?? It's not about trying to prove that I'm a better fan or deliberately picking the most obscure album. I genuinely love Goin Places and it just irks me sometimes when people dismiss stuff they haven't even heard (I'm talking in general here, not directing this at you).

I genuinely love Goin Places and it just irks me sometimes when people dismiss stuff they haven't even heard (I'm talking in general here, not directing this at you). No worries mate. I would imagine most of us are unfamiliar with more than a few of those albums. I'm not over familiar with The Jackson's and Goin' Places because I just find those albums have a bit of a lull; they're very samey 70's disco meets broadway meets cabaret club music. I find them very hard to get through and a tad boring. I suppose if you break it down you have J5 on Motown who were mainly a singles lable at the time -I suppose Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder were album artist's by that point- The Jackson's early albums on Epic when they were still searching for their identity as a creative force, and then in 78/79 the explosion of The Jackson's as a hits group and MJ's solo career. The J5 later albums and Jackson's early albums had the group in the musical wilderness so to speak. At Motown disagreeing over contracts and creative control and on Epic finally having the creative input but searching for a hit formula. I know many on here really love and appreciate Goin' Places but personally I find it a bit of a snooze fest. I suppose if I try to be a bit more positive about it, it's more MJ music which is never a bad thing.
