Great song, from what was unfortunately her last great album. The singles from No More Drama were killer, Dance For Me, Family Affair and of course the title track are some of the most memorable and well-crafted R&B/pop songs from that era.
I always felt like Privacy by MJ aped the beat and rhythm of Family Affair. They're practically identical (and were released the same year):

I'm glad you started the second SOTW (Non-MJ) thread. I've been meaning to do the next one but couldn't come up with a song that would catch on. No More Drama is a super choice! Love it...And The Young And The Restless sample is genius!

Yes and a thousand times yes.
I became a fan of this when she did it at Glastonbury a few years ago.
Check out those squats at about 4:20!

Oh, I'm disappointed by this. That's more than a sample, that's practically the entire instrumental basis of the song. I hate finding out stuff like this...

Great song and great pick russg.
You all need to check out the Jools Holland performance she did of this song back in the day. I defy anybody to not get goosebumps at that performance.

I know what you mean, especially if the song means a lot to you. But I don't usually mind samples if it's done well. And in this case Mancini's instrumental was utilized perfectly. Think of it as a songwriting partner. Same with MJ's Little Susie. Although his sampling is much more minuscule. The strings section from The Fiddler On The Roof theme is almost irreplaceable, but Little Susie does create something totally original with it. Anyway I don't think it takes anything away from the epic-ness of No More Drama
