No. Twitter. Basically I was called a racist for posting the part of the Billboard year end charts which shows MJ higher up than Beyonce. In answer of that I got "old white people need to be evaporated". But supposedly I'm the racist (and misogynist) for thinking Beyonce is not on MJ's level. BTW, this was in reply of a BuzzFeed article which (again) wanted to give the king of Pop title to Beyonce (what's the obsession and why is she "king" when she's female?). My point was that a 37 year old MJ album does better on the charts than her album that she released this year, so how can she be the King? Apparently this is racist (because MJ isn't black too?). Because she is a black woman you are only allowed to worship the ground she walks on. Anyway, her fans excuse for her poor sales is: "she's not pop, but does art (lol), so of course she doesn't sell so well as a pop artist like MJ". OK, if she's not pop, but art (lol) then why do you want that king of pop title so bad? Be consistent at least. But what do I know? I'm a racist because I posted factual chart data. That's so moronic. I feel with something as dumb as that, I wouldn't even give them the time of day. Both Buzzfeed and the Beyonce fans... yikes.

This is what I am talking about.
I actually slept through it, but was sent it by other fans and I saw other fans defending me. This lead to a whole discussion about this small, but vocal group of black militant fans (probably raised on Tumblr or something) preaching to us about how when someone doesn't like Beyoncé it is usually because of racism and misogyny. Basically implying that we were racist/misogynist for criticizing/not liking her or thinking she is not on MJ's level. They surely mastered this new "woke" skill of getting offended by everything because someone (another black fan) called them "kids" (something along the lines of "these kids need to calm down") and they played offended by the "ageism" of that as well. Never mind that they kept throwing us much ruder ageist insults before - see the above tweet, for example.
This wasn't the first time from this bunch of young, black fans. A couple of weeks ago they attacked other white fans and accused them of racism just because they defended Lisa Maria Presley. They dug up an old interview by her in which she was asked if she thought MJ was a pedophile and she said if she had ever seen or suspected such a thing she would have hung him on a tree by his balls. This is supposedly "racist" because it supposedly alludes to the lynching of black people. I don't think it is and I don't think the lynching of black people, or any racial aspect, even crossed LMP's mind when she said that. She was talking about what she would do with a pedophile, not with a black man. Guess what, not only black people were ever hung.
I wasn't in that debate (I actually was once in a similar one on LSA and I knew where it was going and I wasn't in the mood), but some other fans defended Lisa and said, no it isn't racist and she isn't racist. So then they were alluded to be racist as well, as you would expect. This debate went on for like three days, particularly with two well respected fans (who have done so much for MJ in the past months and who are not racist at all, of course) being called or implied to be racists for not thinking LMP was a racist and for defending her. All the while ageist insults were flying around left and right in their direction. But don't call them "kids" because THAT is ageist!
The same way the people who joined in to defend "ok ash" after that above comment took no issues with her comment but were going on about the latent "racism" behind any criticism towards Beyoncé. To them the capital crime was us "disrespecting" Beyoncé, not the above comment. Twilight zone. Just imagine if someone had tweeted "young, black fans need to be evaporated"!
I actually never see these young, militant black fans in the forefront of the defense of MJ against the allegations, but they sure are immediately all there when they sense blood that they can accuse white fans of "racism". They are using any excuse to pull the race card. Like post something about Beyoncé not being on MJ's level and you are a racist because you must be "disrespecting" her because she is a black female, not because that's just your honest opinion of her music. By criticizing her apparently you are being offensive to ALL black females. Tumblr generation, I guess.

^ Big yikes.
Speaking of woke/cancel culture and all that, I've been playing the video game Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice lately. I had started it months ago but stopped because the stuff happening in the game was reminding me too much of what was going on in real life with LN and such and it just spooked me. The first episode of the game has you defending a client in a country that hates defense attorneys and relies solely on one side of the story to render a verdict. There's this psychic chick that is able to conjure up the final memories of the dead and show those memories to the court (yeah this series is pretty weird), and they use that as the sole piece of evidence during the trial. They take this single account of events as fact without questioning it at all and don't allow the accused any chance to defend themselves, because to question the psychic girl is considered insulting to the victim and to the country's beliefs. And when you (or the character you play as, rather) offer up solid evidence that they may be wrong, the other side digs their heels in and absolutely refuses to listen, even if it's obvious that they are wrong. Sound familiar?
It gets crazier in the second episode. One of the characters is falsely accused of murder, and the media is super quick to jump on it and offer up a very biased version of the story. The media paints the accused as guilty immediately, and even boasts about polls that overwhelmingly show that most voters think the character as guilty. This media mogul guy you encounter even tells you "The entire country is against you!" and talks all condescending to you, treating you like a villain and refusing to listen. During the trial, people in the courtroom's gallery even start yelling at the accused and calling for her to just be found guilty, that she's trying to trick people with her charm, etc. Again, sound familiar?
Needless to say, I've gotten pretty angry at these head-in-the-sand asshole NPCs. I know it's dumb to get mad at non-existent characters in a game, but given all that's gone on this past year, I don't think it's too far-fetched to say that those NPCs actually DO kind of exist in real life.

Damn right! (BTW, this is the drummer of Level 42 who earlier this year bashed MJ for LN but then after fans showed him a couple of facts he backtracked and apologized. I appreciate that.)

What kind of sick individual would say this?! Head on the other hand is to be expected. It would be extremely rude and very bad manners if he didn’t. I’ve bought most of his albums for Christ’s sake!

Fell a few meters last night and broke my ankle! So got the next week and a half off work, but unfortunately I can no longer see Elton John who's coming to my country this month
I have a good few movies/TV shows sitting on watchlists across various streaming services though! So will be a good time to rip into those. First thing I decided to watch was some Simpsons, and of course in the very first episode I watch, this happened... 😂
