michaeljacksonpopcorn.gif Sits and waits. Read about it and didn't even understand it? It seems to be a lethal topic online. I never touch it. Can't exactly see why JK is being torn apart, but at the same time I cant see the context as to why she said it. Why bother provoking such a response without having been asked? Thats the part I question. I doubt she just tweeted about it out of the blue the same way I'd tweet "great run in the heat there. long time since its been this hot" or something. Anyway, I dont understand whats happening, and Im fine with that.

Has everyone burned their JK Rowling books yet? Or are we doing it together? I for one applaud her for standing her ground despite of the "woke" mob. I saw Daniel Redcliff's comments but he, along with others, misrepresented what she said. She didn't say transwomen weren't women. She said sex (not gender!) is real, not a social construct. When did stating a biological fact become controversial and "hate speech"? Trans activists are constantly moving the goal post. First it was gender that was supposedly a social construct, but now it's sex too? If sexis not real then why do trans people need sex change operation? I'm all for trans people having the right to to transition and live their best life (that if they are adults, I have certain issues with children transitioning), but when they demand people to deny reality and embrace some sort of mass delusion because reality makes them uncomfortable, that's where I draw the line. Stating sex isn't real has very real, negative consequences to biological women. JK, being a feminist, rightly identified that. (Eg. if sex is not real, biological males are free to compete in women's sports. Just to name one consequence.)

Stating sex isn't real has very real, negative consequences to biological women. JK, being a feminist, rightly identified that. (Eg. if sex is not real, biological males are free to compete in women's sports. Just to name one consequence.) My main issue with the issue is people, like Daniels, interpretation of what she has said, and then go for the jugular. Half the time I actually don't understand how whats being said is so horrifically wrong, and then I see the reaction and it's crucifying. This woke attitude of "she said something iffy, burn her and her books and anyone that still reads a Harry Potter " have actually eliminated the ability to discuss or ask an honest question or possibly POSSIBLY suggest that not everything has to be dealt in absolutes, that things can be "well I get this, but I also think...". Its like using your own head is a crime online. Anyway, I have to say that I'm still OK with not really feeling too strong either way. I don't see what she said as an attack. But what do I know. I'm just a small town girl.

Read about it and didn't even understand it? I think its that trans people take offense at JKR saying "people who menstruate" should just be called "women". The offensive part is supposedly stemming from the fact that women who now identify as men still bleed, so JKR is being accused of excluding chicks with dicks. Is that right? Do I get my "woke" badge now? It wasn't just the "people who menstruate" stuff. Here's the whole thread: BTW, if anyone could be offended the "people who menstruate" tweet it would be transmen, yet Radcliffe specifically caters to transwomen in his virtue signaling. I find that interesting because often feminists who criticize the trans movement as chipping away women's rights, point out that every such discussion is always made about transwomen, ie. biological males. So they see it again as biological males' rights being put above biological females' rights, ie. an expression of male privilege, even when they call themselves transwomen. That's the clash between feminists and the trans movement. For example, transmen competing in male sports isn't really an issue for obvious biological reasons (good luck to a biological female to be a threat to biological males). So that's never going to be a problem. But we all can see the problems of biological males competing in women's categories. And this is already happening.

Twitter is hell at the moment. Incredibly nasty by people who seem to think they are saints. Yeah. Speaking in general, I use the app a lot but I do a good amount of eye rolling on it sometimes. There is a lot of social policing going on and sometimes there are instances it can be for the good if done respectively and constructively, but then there are often times it’s just detrimental and offputting and I don’t think that helps. People are so quick to cull, when really having a “Hey, I disagree and these are the reasons why” would be more effective than a “Fuck you! You and your work are dead to me!” attitude. I find myself more receptive and open to tweets of the former kind. Sometimes I also feel people’s opinions can be so simplified and black and white, when it doesn’t always need to be? Simplified in the sense that you have to go all out in one direction or another. You can disagree with one facet of a persons opinions, but still respect what they have brought in other fields? But then again, a platform that restricts posts to 280 characters is rarely a great platform for debate about these more complicated social issues.
