Please find it in your heart to forgive me. Your betrayal was quite bad, I'll have to live with it a few days and see how I feel about this in the cold light of day. I feel like we've been living a lie. All this time I thought you knew who he was and you didn't. You don't just get over something like that.

Yeah I said to you that Iād heard of him and I didnāt! šš I wonder did Halle Berry get to keep her Cat Woman suit? She makes a lovely pussy cat. I've never actually seen Catwoman, but wasn't it meant to be dreadful? Like James Corden in Cats-level bad? I did respect her though for turning up to the Razzies and accepting her worst actress award in person. Iāve never seen it, but her in a cat suit!! Fuck yeah!!!

Will and Grace in its prime was fabulous.
Don't think it was Friends level though.

I believe it derives from the term "faghag", referring to a gay mans best female friend, but has since been shortened to "hag" due to the LGBT community distancing themselves from the offending slur. Don't you watch Will & Grace? So fag is offensive but hag is ok? š Never watched Will & Grace.Ā Well, I mean, yeah. The word āfagā has a history of use to discriminate against gay people. Iām somewhat disheartened to see support for JKR here. Though what do I expect.

Well I disagree with you and I didnāt really come here to get into a political debate so perhaps take it up with some one else. I have my opinion, you have yours, and thatās it really and thatās fine and thatās life. Also, Iām aware the word āfagā is offensive. The point I was making was pertaining to the word āhagā which you would have understood had you not been so eager to be offended.

You had made the comparison by saying "so fag is offensive but hag is ok?" So highlighting its usage history seemed appropriate. As a person that's been harassed, insulted and made to live in fear for being LGBT, I think you'll find I am not, in fact, "eager" to be "offended." Quite the opposite actually. I was hoping I could take the opportunity to illuminate the fact that all types of people are fans of Michael, myself and my partner included, and you never know who you could be hurting. Seeing our lives being defined as political and controversial isn't something we aren't used to, but it sure is tiring to encounter it on every platform.
I know this whole forum is supposed to be less restrictive overall, but as such there should be an openness to people affected negatively by certain things that are willing to share their perspective on those things. I'm not attacking.

Look, hereās the thing; I was being facetious and that was clear to Matty who I was conversing with. Thereās a group of us on here who have known each other for literally years and we deliberately push each other's buttons for a reaction without ever intending to hurt, discriminate or insult anyone. For the record, I support and love gay people, black people, Jewish people, well, every race, colour, creed and gender. And Iām pretty sure everyone else here does also. What gets me down from time to time is that I feel I shouldnāt have to establish these facts every time I make a comment. It should just be a given. My in-laws are black, my best friend growing was gay -heās still gay in fact- and my best friend on here is Jewish. I fully get and understand your plight and I empathise with you. Most people I know have had difficulties in life. I donāt really want to get into my own personal background but Iāve been abused, had pill dependency issues and had a very transient difficult traumatic upbringing and perhaps thatās made me quite temperamental at times, I guess, I donāt know. I had an extremely dysfunctional upbringing to say the least. MJ got me through all of those difficult times and struggles and from what I gather thatās been the case for many people on this board. When I say something that you disagree with donāt take it as a given that Iām necessarily against it. People are too quick to jump down peoples throats sometimes. I may be seeing things from a different perspective is all, or, Iām simply having a bit of banter/laughs with others by being deliberately or overly offensive or obnoxious. And welcome to the board. This is a really great forum and Iām sure that if you stick around youāll agree with me.

I imagine for most businesses, itāll just be yet another internet related expense, like paying for web hosting or internet advertising or whatever. I think it could be different for those who are more low-key/casual on social media or donāt really have many social media expenses. As for determining whoās account is legitimate, I imagine itāll be like the older days, where you assumed that most followers = their actual account, or you looked them up via some other official means (ie finding their social media handle through their website, as inconvenient as that might be). That might work for top-tier celebrities, but I can see that being an issue for people who arenāt as famous. This just gives so much power to lunatics like myself who will wait for his sisters verified badge to disappear only to set up a fake account in her name, get it verified and watch her world burn as she puts herself as a man/flat earther/Garry Glitter fanatic. I know you're joking about so this is more of a general thing rather than aimed at you specifically, but I must say I'm confused why everyone is under the impression they can pay $8 and just pretend to be whoever they want. Literally every website I've been on, there's so many people under that impression?
Surely they're going to continue the verification methods that are stated above (or thereabouts), the only difference is that now it'll be behind $8 a month... which I also don't really see the big deal behind. I think if you're the kind of person who needs a verification tick, you can probably afford the $8 a month to support the website that you probably use a lot or use to supplement your income/business. Not saying everyone with blue ticks (like lower-key local journalists/scientists) would find it indifferent to spend that much a month and I could understand why they wouldn't wanna pay... but yeah.
