I have always liked the music of Mick the lips Jagger and the Rolling Stones, one of the releast and longest lived groups coming up to 56 years since they formed in the Marquee club in July 1962.
Their music started off being a homage to early R&B, Blues and the Black tradition and later moved through to straight ahead rock, moving into stadium rock, pop, dance and even reggae. The group features 3 original members, the lead singer Mick Jagger, the guitarist Keith Richards and drummer Charlie Watts. The fact Keith and Mick are still alive after years of drug and alcohol abuse is incredible, yet at 74 years old they are still rocking.
The butt of jokes over their drug consumption, age and longevity and general zaniness pales next to their musical output, songs like Brown Sugar, Gimme Shelter, Jumping Jack Flash, Satisfaction and Honky Tonk Women amongst many others. Their ability to write and perform is also legendary with Jagger and Richards being one of the most respected teams next to Lennon.McCartney - besides writing many songs for their own groups, they have also written many hits for others.
I am not going to go on and on about them, as there is too much and many great books about the Rolling Stones including Keith Richards own "Life" have many facts and just to say - what a group and what an institution. Plus Mick Jagger's lips - the logo are the most recognised logos along with Windows, McDonalds, Coca Cola and Disney. The combination of Micks soulful growl and Keefs instantly memorable riffs.

Albums
1. Let it bleed 1969 Drugged out perfection
2. Beggars Banquet 1968 as above, but even more drugs
3. Some Girls 1978 - A great and hard rocking come back packed full of hits
4. Aftermath 1966 - The album that established the stones as a force to be reckoned with, with a more original sound taking over from years of R&B covers. The album featured such sexist gems as Stupid Girl, Under my Thumb, Out of Time along with more baroque masterpieces - Mick and his rubbery lips are all over this.
5. Sticky Fingers 1971 - The Stones reached the 70s with style and proved everyone they were still the bad motherfuckers on earth. Think of all the drugs that went into it.
6. Exile on main street 1972 it is probably their best but too long, still this album is an inspiration Its all Keef and his stcky fingers here.
