Didn't Cher famously disown her own daughter when she wanted to have a sex change? And MJs the bad parent for rolling his child up in a blanket?? Man, people in glass houses sure like to throw stones.

Trouble is, I don't think Anthony Kiedis is saying he was a victim of anything, judging by the way he tells the story, he sounds quite proud of his teenage escapades. But the law is still the law and underage sex is still underage sex.

I don't know if she disowned him. I read that she admitted she struggled to accept it early on, but she says she was supportive, so I don't know.
Regardless, the whole thing about MJ being a bad parent because of hiding his children was such a stupid narrative. I think the media pushed it because it irked them that they couldn't take photos of MJ's kids. Which only proves MJ's point. It was very clear why he did that and he was perfectly right. In fact, now I see other celebrities do it too. Cher was just another bandwagon jumper in her judgementalness about MJ.

But the law is still the law and underage sex is still underage sex. Yes, I think often it is considered something to be proud of if an underage boy sleeps with a grown woman and not as sexual abuse by the woman. Even by the victims. If it was a male abuser no one would brag about it as some kind of funny story, that's for sure. That's a hypocrisy in society that South Park also pointed out in the above linked scene. Kiedis actually makes mention of other sexual escapades as a young boy too in that interview. He says his first sexual experience was at the age of 12 with his father's 18 year old girlfriend - and that with his father's permission. It seems like he had a very problematic childhood with irresponsible adults around him.

I read upon this story a little bit and it seems like Kiedis had different versions of this story, which makes it problematic. In interviews with the US media she never mentioned sex, nor in his autobiography. (At @2:38)
So I don't know what is the truth. Did he tell a different story to this Italian magazine? Or did they doctor his interview to make it more salacious? Or did he tone down the story a bit for American media, but felt more free to talk about it abroad? I am not sure what is the truth here.

If it's true that Cher had sex with Kiedis when he was underage, then the double standards are horrific. Imagine if this was MJ when he was still alive...the press would be out with their drama and ugly headlines, wanting "justice" for victims. Sex under age is illegal for all, any sex, background or "willing" victims shouldn't come into it.

The point is, if true, Cher had a sexual relationship with a boy of 13. How AK views it is neither here nor there. The encounter may not have been troublesome for Kiedis, but everyone is different and some other 13 year old kid could've found the experience hugely damaging.
But as you say, his lack of consistency in telling the story is problematic and casts doubt on the whole thing. A sexual encounter doesn't change, only someones recollection of it does, which is where you start entering Wade Robson territory of ever-evolving memories.

I don't know about this story, just wanted to point out that Cher never disowned Chaz during the sex change. She just said she was having a difficult time with Chastity coming out as lesbian in the early 80s. And that was only for a moment. She always supported him. I don't eve want to comment on the original post

Amazing how you all fall thrall to this made up gossip, yet if someone said the same shit about Michael, you would all be shutting it down.
I doubt it is true, Anthony Kiedis is known to be a huge junkie who has tried to quit drugs several times and failed, he also loves media limelight and the Chilis have not had an album for a few years, plus they have completely sold out and not made a good album since By the Way back in 2002.
Cher dsowned Chas for 5 seconds and has always been known as a huge friend to the LGBTI+ Community, so the idea she is a homophobe and transphobe is ridiuclous. Cher is one of the biggest gay icons around and always has been. I think Anthony is talking shit, his father was a drug pusher who at most may have been scoring drugs for singing trainwrecks the Allman Brothers.
What source is the article - TMZ or Radar gossip on line

If that's the case then Rose McGowan only accused Weinstein because she hasn't been in any big films in the last few years. Dangerous way to be thinking if you ask me.

People should also look into Madonna, I recall something about her and a 15yo boy that was hushed up.
