"I love my fans...I mean, I really love them and if I could meet every one of them, I would. I watch television and see shows that follow other celebrities and how they get so mad about fans wanting to say hi or get a autograph...They made me... So, if I can give them two minutes of my time and a friendly hello, it's well worth it. I've lived my life by the fans and I'll die by the fans." ~Michael Jackson~ When you think about it, Michael was truly the first celebrity pre-social media to interact with his fans on a personal level. It's really sweet and it sucks that it gets overlooked by the mainstream media and general public. Looks like the Estate put a halt to the auction of all those tapes. So that can only mean they're going to obtain those tapes and then do something with that footage, right? ...right? ...right?!?

Carlos Santana covered Stranger in Moscow. That's so cool of him, thank you Carlos! And I agree with him we should have a global Michael Jackson day.

That songs about the paparazzi, not the fans? It was fans too, the kid was not papprazzi Ugh. Its a general commentary - aimed at the media - on being treated like a commodity. @innuendo141's insinuation that MJ was somehow hypocritical in that quote because of Privacy is taking the meaning of the song out of context. If you don't think fans too were guilty of treating him like a commodity then you are fooling yourself. He was always very gracious and kind to his fans - a soundbite taken out of context used in a song aimed at the media does not undermine that. How about show a little compassion for a man who lived his entire life under immense scrutiny?

Anyway it was a joke comment, no need to get worked up.

He would invite some in, became friendly with some, etc.

This is a really great show. Heartbreak Hotel, Another Part Of Me, Rock With You etc all go out with a bang. It's also really cool to have 1 show with John Barnes playing keys. Must have been nice for him to be able to play so many songs he was involved with at the beginning of things in '85/'86 after being pretty much relegated at Westlake. youtu.be/60t0lAORJHw?si=MQS_UiICOaYShYzE
