I'm not sure if we already have one of these (I don't think we do), so here is a thread for MJ-related discussion that doesn't necessarily warrant it's own thread. I'll start with this picture someone posted over at Prince.org of MJ and Prince together:  Of course, it's photoshopped, but it's enough to get you dreaming. It's such a shame there isn't a single photo out there of these two legends together in the same room. The possibilities are enough to blow my mind. |

I was going to start a thread lol this recently but make it into a quiz/opinion thread. A bit like This or That but more general
The idea was you post a question which can be opinion or fact and not one answers and poses their own.
E.g. What’s the best Rod Temperton song? (Opinion) Or Name the Songs performed on all three solo tours?
Should we use this thread for it or start another?

Yes, they met on several occasions.
They performed on the same stage together in the early 80s at a James Brown show (footage of this is on Youtube).
They met during the recording of the Bad album to discuss Prince possibly duetting on the title track.
They met in 2006/7 when Prince was playing his Vegas residency.
And I believe I remember hearing a story about them meeting in the 90s one time, but the details of the meeting escape my mind at this moment.
I'm sure a photograph of the two must exist somewhere, but just hasn't been made public.

I'll raise the bar on epic meetings imagining if Michael had achieved the level of fame and influence he did on Thriller when Sir Charles was still alive for Michael to have the opportunity to meet his idol and of his biggest inspirations. I think I read on Wikipedia Michael attended a party hosted by the Chaplins in 1975 but Wikipedia is not so reliable, I don't think they ever met. Charlie's family have always talked about their meetings in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland, 1988 onwards. Just imagining what they could possibly discuss if these genius giants had met would blow my mind.  |
