Chappelle is soon releasing a documentary about R Kelly and the allegations of sex abuse towards minors.
Always sickened me the fact MJ gets so much shit thrown at him (when he was innocent) but R Kelly had the same allegations and even video evidence and no one seems to give a toss, all is forgiven...?!
Here's trailer to the documentary...

IDK If I'd go that far. From a public perception perspective, he's very commonly seen as a pedophile/creep towards younger girls. Every single time I seen an article about it, people are referencing it and/or joking about it.

ghost, that is not the trailer, it is comedien David Chappelle roasting R Kelly's infamous video where he pisses on an underage girl. The trailer I assume you're referring to is this:

I think it took some time though. Some 10+ years ago, he wasn't seen that bad, even though the allegations against him were known. I wrote it in another thread some time ago:

I agree with you there, Respect77. R Kelly was still seen as "alright" to the industry and music fans for a long, long time after the allegations that hit him. With MJ there was such an immediate bashing and hatred that the repercussions were felt immediately.
Why R Kelly faired better (for a while), I don't know. Maybe the industry enjoys tearing down the bigger legends. The higher you are, the more they wanna see you fall.

So the Surviving R. Kelly documentary aired. I didn't watch it but I see it trending on social media. Apparently R. Kelly wrote You Are Not Alone about an underage girl he impegrated? Did anyone here watch it? How credible is it?
SMH. I was never a fan of YANA or any of the songs Kelly wrote for MJ, but this is seriously disgusting. I am sure MJ didn't know of the background of the song, but I wish he had never taken anything from Kelly.

If that claim is true, it'd have been absolutely sick of Kelly tarnishing Michael's artistry like that. Even though I think he's guilty of abusing minors, (he "married" 15-yearl-old Aaliyah after all) I don't want YANA to be tainted in such a disgusting way despite being one of my least favorite hits sung by Michael.
I hope it's not true, it's easy to make outlandish allegations that go viral these days and lots of people take them as true.

Yeah, I wonder if they just made that claim in this documentary to make a connection to MJ and name drop him and somehow drag him in to Kelly's mess. So I am asking fans who watched it to find out how credible this documentary seemed and who or what was the exact source of this claim.

Thank you. I hear R. Kelly's brother denied it. Who knows what is the truth?
ETA: This is the woman who made that particular claim.

Luckily YANA (alongside One More Chance) are the worst singles in MJ's catalogue!
Even so, this is pretty much clickbait and won't tarnish anything long term.

To be honest I do wonder if she made it up about YANA. She met Kelly in 1995, but apparently MJ and Kelly have been working on the song already in 1994... Maybe R. Kelly made it up and just told her that the song was about her.

Kelly made it up and just told her that the song was about her. It could be both: either that he made it up for her, or she made it up for the TV show. I wouldn't be too surprised if the editor asked her to name drop MJ. You know how the media likes to drag his name into any filth of this nature. It is just very easy to go to a TV show and make all kind of claims about someone. A claim is just a claim though. Might be true, but also might be a lie or a bunch of half-truths.
