TonyR I'm really enjoying the Sticky & Sweet tour. Amazing that I bought and loved I'm Going To Tell You A Secret and Confessions live cd/dvds yet never even seen this one! Oh my, I adore the Sticky & Sweet Tour. Probably by 4th favourite. Of course I love the Hard Candy album so that helps! She was in fine form then & I think she really loved that album. She's done the song Candy Shop on every tour since (even though it was never a single!) She's Not Me/Beat Goes On/Spanish Lesson/Give It 2 Me/Devil Wouldn't Recognise You - all amazing Plus it has a stunning version of Vogue!! I also love the interlude 'Get Stupid', both the visual and the music. Really clever rewording of the lyrics from Give It To Me & Beat Goes On but the meaning is changed so it's about World Peace. I'm blown away by how well presented this show is! Yeah, the remixes/mash-ups work so well and breath new life into some of the classics. I just love how this woman constantly delivers something new and fresh for every era. The Hard Candy and American Life tracks work so well in this show with classic hits weaved into the set list. Yeah, listened to Hard Candy about a year ago and really enjoyed. I think it's become a favourite of mine also.

Rebel Heart is too scattered and there's probably 3 or 4 genuinely classic Madonna songs on it. The recording process, the track selection and the outtakes remind me of Invincible; too many producer's in different locations, to many tracks and radio backlash, and yet there's alot to enjoy on it. Magic should be much more consistent album and no leaks this time. The guy who hacked the system is locked up for multiple Madonna hacks and other things I believe.

I always think that if someone like Little Mix released something like Girl Gone Wild (from MDNA) or Taylor Swift released Ghosttown or Rebel Heart that they would be worldwide smashes. It must really piss Madonna off that they were ignored just because of her age. Hopefully she's just glass half full about it & thinks that a 35 year career is more than most people can dream of. In fact has anyone has ever achieved that? A 35 year career of still releasing chart topping albums & sell out tours of original material. And I mean a consecutive 35 years, not one where it's just a hits rehash every ten years.

I think it has an overall percentage rating of around 68% which isn’t bad. Had Radio One and a few others gotten on board I think it would have been better recieved. I read a few reviews a week ago and some of the critics had a lot of good things to say about it. I think disc 2 on the Super Deluxe was wasted though. 4 tracks and 2 remixes seems a bit of a waste. Yeah. What’s remarkable to me about that career is that, as you say, it’s been consecutive; album, tour, singles and videos, live album/dvd, book, film, soundtrack, humanitarian project, etc. Remarkable really. And it’s taken that much work to be at the top. And we wonder what happened to Janet’s career? If Janet worked a third of what Madonna’s consistently worked for over 35 years she would have had a hope. Madonna gives you everything though. Entire era’s filled with great moments.

About 18 months ago Madonna self-funded and got an orphanage built in Malawi. About the same day she playfully flashed her bum at an awards ceremony. Guess which one grabbed the headline? And it wasn't just that she flashed her bum (not her bare bum by the way!) it was the fact that a woman in their late 50's dared to behave like that. Crazy. She self-funded and built a fucking orphanage.

For a long time I believed Gaga would be the next Madonna, but as talented as she is she doesn't have the level of work rate required or the consistent amount of hits needed. I really do think Gaga is a talent but she's not Madonna! And that's why Madonna is who she is. Same with MJ. Madonna's work rate is beyond what most men would be capable of to be honest. Anyway, the Sticky & Sweet show is excellent. "Madonna's acclaimed 'Sticky & Sweet' show was filmed in Buenos Aires over four days to a crowd exceeding 256,000 screaming fans. The concert includes a memorable show stopping moment when Madonna performs a historic 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' to a thunderous response from her Argentine fans. The indispensable release features many classic tracks including '4 Minutes', 'Like a Prayer', 'Hung Up', 'Ray of Light' and several hits from her most recent studio album `Hard Candy', which debuted at No.1 in 37 countries. The Material Girl more than lives up to her name, as her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour became the most successful tour ever by a solo artist. After playing 85 shows since its launch in August 2008, Madonna's 'Sticky & Sweet' has drawn more than 3.5 million fans in 32 countries." Setlist: 1. Intro: The Sweet Machine 2. Candy Shop Medley 3. Madge is one of my favourites too (Just in case any of you don't know).
Not quite on the same level as Prince or Michael Jackson, but who is? I have been into her since the Like a Virgin days, when my cousin a year younger than I got the album for Christmas 1984 (she was 7 and I 8) and we wore it out and sang like a Virgin to all our relatives at the Family Christmas do, parents were not impressed, we had no idea what a virgin was, I thought it was the record label (As I had several Boy George singles - yes my parents were already dreading the possibilities of what i may become).
We continued to dig her through the 80s and remember the release of the Like a Prayer video, which saw the TV being turned off by angry Aunties when Madonna started seducing the Black priest (Strict and racist Catholic families) and then in 1990 when we saw Dick Tracy and I bought the Immaculate collection and then got Erotica although at 16 I could not buy a copy of the Sex book on sale (My parents thought me buying Sexy MF was enough).
I stayed true to Madge through my 20s and 30s and kicked myself when I missed the Rebel Heart tour, because I had spent all my money on Prince 2 weeks earlier (Madonna played Auckland on March 3rd 2016, Prince Feb 24th). Like you all I actually liked Rebel Heart and its got some good songs (Ghost town, Icon, Holy water, Unapologetic Bitch).
Pretty much my favourite era is all the 80s and early 90s, favourite albums, Erotica, Like a Prayer, True Blue, Immaculate Collection (For Justify my love alone), Favoruite song is Justify my Love and Vogue.

Still to me, the most under rated track on Hard Candy (Which I consider a good album) is "Dance 2nite" irresistable beat and sexy voice, this to me is the most under rated post millenuim Madonna track. Where is the love for this masterpiece.

Here’s a question for Madonna fans on here; Should the Dick Tracy soundtrack I’m Breathless be considered a Madonna album? It’s not entirely made up of songs or music from the film and features one of her most iconic songs; Vogue.
The theory is that the soundtrack is an album by the character Madonna played in film Breathless Mahoney, hence the title I’m Breathless.
Little MJ connection; Bill Bottrell worked as an engineer on the record.

Totally - Its nearly all Madonna, although there are only really the 3 modern Madonna songs (Vogue, Hanky panky, Something to remember). The rest is ehr playing up to her character of Breathless Mahoney and her 1930s style jazz pop stylings.
Okay some of the songs were written by Steven Sondheim and Now I'm following you is a duet with Warren Beatty (ugh!), but this is Madonna. It is different from her other movie albums, as they all have other artists and songs (Who's that girl, Desparately seeking susan, Evita etc).
It also fits the other criteria, that Madonna hit singles came off it (Vogue and Hanky Panky). It's Madonna, but I understand why people don't include it, my 11 album box set just goes from Like a Prayer to Erotica. Also it's not exactly the greatest album comapred to the others. the 3 singles are great, but songs like Back in business, I'm going Bananas and Now I'm following you really are campy fillers that barely fit the forgettable movie they were in.

www.timesofisrael.com/madonna-likely-to-perform-at-eurovision-in-tel-aviv/Madonna likely to perform at Eurovision in Tel Aviv Canadian-Israeli philanthropist Sylvan Adams reportedly underwriting a Madonna performance at the May song contest It looks like Madonna will perform two songs at the Eurovision Song Contest being hosted in Tel Aviv in May, courtesy of philanthropist Sylvan Adams. The cost will be about $1.5 million, according to Ynet. “I can only say with much happiness that there is a green light from the philanthropist,” producer Dani Ben Naim told Army Radio on Sunday morning. "Adams just wants to help the State of Israel with its foreign relations and we’ll sit with Madonna’s people to work on things, which all look good, and move it forward.” Canadian-Israeli billionaire Adams has lived in Israel since 2015, and has funded several major projects, including the Giro d’Italia Big Start bike race that took place in the Jerusalem area last year. He also recently donated $5 million to SpaceIL, the non-profit organization that is behind the initiative to land the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon. Madonna last performed in Israel during the summer of 2012.

^ That would be very controversial if true (don't think it is). Many artists are demanding it gets moved from Israel for Human rights issues.

aazzaabbHi - just wanted to say, that Madonna box set you did for me (probably 8 or so years ago now!!) is still fucking amazing. Honestly, it's one of the best gifts I've ever got. I listen to some of it everyday. Highlights are: On Stage & On The Record - best version ever of Like A Prayer Live 8 & Live Earth Don't Tell Me live versions Take A Bow live (swoon!!) Music live (best version from 2000) Secret live from DWT (just perfect, Madonna and acoustic guitar) Mother & Father (acoustic ballad version) And tonnes more...but they're the best bits. Thanks so much again.
