I listened to the new song. Too little, too late. It's been YEARS since she came back with a decent single. Hung Up was the last "classic" Madonna single. This kind of tosh is utterly forgettable and strictly for the diehards. Shock horror, the resident Madonna troll doesn't like it!!

Huh, well, as a non-fan I think it's certainly different for her. I don't particularly care for it, but it's interesting to see her cribbing from latin pop rather than whoever the producer de jour in EDM is. It's not a song I think is particularly innovative "in general", but it certainly is for her. The 1,2 1,2 thing was sort of weird.
But hey, if Michael were still around he would be riding whatever the trends in pop music were too (remember the Akon songs?). I'm glad Madonna is still with us and making music.

People act as if MJ was completely above using producers-of-the-month and following chart trends, when in reality he did just that by working with Teddy Riley and Rodney Jerkins. Madonna has quite often gone a bit more leftfield in her choice of collaboraters, from William Orbit to Mirwais. Even Stuart Price was a relative unknown before Confessions.

I quite like the new song and think it's her most interesting single release in a while.
I don't think the guy adds all that much though. Would be better with just Madonna.

I’ve listened to it about 20 times now and I love it. Apparently they’re releasing some more singles before the album drops. I Rise is the next one.

I think you'll find the song has had a very mixed reception even from Madonna fans. I am not a Madonna troll, I am a huge fan of her 80s/90s work.

Very nice video. Personally, I think she picked up the wrong partner for singing, however, so outrageous and courageous to dress like that, to dance like that on the table. But at the end, "bitch, she's Madonna!"..... She can do whatever she wants.

"I Rise" comes out Friday. According to one source, the song is an anthemic ballad.

I've given the Madonna track a few more listens, and as much as I'm a huge fan of hers and super excited for the album, I'm not loving the track quite as much as I hoped. Hopefully I can brain wash myself lol.

I think the song is just a cool breeze before the storm arrives. The album teaser was very ambitious. I have faith in this album.
And here is the performance from Billboard awards. I loved every minute of it.

I Rise reminds me of body work, devil can't recognise you and ghosttown a little. I don't mind it, but it feels a bit like a Rebel Heart bonus track.
