Been 5 non stop hours of Madonnna on Radio 2 today. Bliss. Glad to see this Celebration Tour is giving her her dues. 5 non stop hours on radio in this day and age is amazing. Superb.

Pretty annoyed I never got tickets now. All the clips look amazing. So glad she seems fully live. Hope the Glasto rumours are true and I can see it on TV. Always amazes me how independent Madonna is. Every other artist has done the same old, same old Christmas album, Las Vegas residency etc and she has never allowed herself to be turned into a nostalgia artist. If she does do Glastonbury she'll be on the main stage, not the 'Legends' slot. Putting her on the same level as other 'older' artists like Bowie and Macca. I’m wishing to buy a ticket again after refunding mine, but I’m feeling a bit restricted right now health wise and don’t think it’s a good idea

Lovely cover from Niki and Donna (Madonna's former backing singers/dancers).

I was a fan at that time but too young and living at home with my parents. First M show I attended was Drowned World, which is still my best concert experience.

How can a Madonna fan not be a fan of Ray of Light? What's that about? That's like an MJ fan who doesn't like Thriller.

That's like an MJ fan who doesn't like Thriller. Except it isn't. It's not a bad album obviously, and lots of great songs, but much prefer others. And it annoys me that it's seen as her zenith whilst something like Erotica is panned.

Nah mate, ROL is seen as her zenith for a reason. It's not my personal favourite (that would be Bedtime Stories), but I can definitely see why it was so huge and revered. It was a massive moment not just for Madonna, but in pop.

RoL great songs: Ray of Light Drowned World Frozen That's about it Erotica: Deeper and Deeper Rain Bad Girl Erotica Why's It So Hard Bye Bye Baby RoL gets extra kudos as she was behaving 'properly' and not 'trashy'. You're being misogynistic.

Madonna and Kylie Minogue singing I Will Survive and a bit of Can't Get You Out Of My Head. I thought they kind of had a beef or rivalry but I guess I was wrong. That is cool. This was a big deal for the gays apparently, or so my brother said. He's a lifelong fan of both, so I guess for him it would've been the equivalent of MJ and Prince performing together.

Finally got American Life on double disc vinyl. Sounds so good.
How this album is her most derided is beyond me.
It's blissful.
