Michael Jackson’s been banned from massive radio stations in my country, and I can see on my Facebook page that friends and family of mine are starting to become aware of the ‘documentary’. FUCK. Which country. Hope you’re okay?

New Zealand. If you go to www.newshub.co.nz (who own a number of radio stations in question) or www.stuff.co.nz, two of NZ's biggest news providers, you'll see it near the top. I'm in a fiery mood honestly. I've just started the documentary now.

No it won't, but I've decided it's better to watch it for myself and be more aware of how to counter it. In case friends/family bring up details to me that I'm not aware of. Appreciate your thoughts by the way
I'm calming down a bit more now TBH, was more shock waking up to see the news. It's great to see most comments are in defence of Michael

Not sure where to put this but the support thread seems like a good place:
I'm watching This Is It on Netflix right now. I continue to surround myself with as much positive Michael energy as possible to combat the darkness.

Just walked into my local grocery store. Rock With You was blaring on the radio. Made me smile.

Granted the documentary won't air until Sunday (eep) but I'm REALLY glad to see New Zealander's aren't standing for this bullshit censorship. Just look at all those comments criticizing them!

It's been an absolute honour defending Michael Jackson with many people in the past week.
Sure, the war has only just begun as far as the general public is concerned. But we arrived in the field of battle first after preparing through legal documents, etc.
As Art Of War teaches us, victory can STILL be ours.
Do NOT lose heart!
And so tonight in the UK....it begins. For this Ulsterman, there's only one thing to say in response to the siege by Dan Reed, Wade Robson, Jimmy Safechuck, HBO and Channel 4!
Up goes the cry, "NO SURRENDER!"

It's such virtue signalling, it makes me want to vomit. Heaven forbid we trigger the believe-all-victims, #MeToo wallflowers.

It’s so conflicting right now. You look one place and there’s all this vitriol, all this hate for Michael. You look another and there’s all this support or denial about the allegations.
I am legitimately worried about how this is going to effect his legacy. Mainly because the allegations have popped up too many times over an extended period of time; before you could claim there were only one or two accusers, but now there’s at least 4 on different occasions overtime. That combined with some of Michael’s own words/actions on camera seems to be enough to convince people.
It’s so utterly important we listen to victims of sexual abuse, and with all the recent allegations and the oppression they’ve faced in the past, it’s totally understandable that people are putting more emphasis on that. But no one seems to be waiting to hear Michael Jackson’s side of the story. Why would they? He’s dead, so they assume there’s nothing more to it because this documentary is so convincing. It’s convincing a lot of people.
I REALLY appreciate Taj’s effort but unfortunately he’s not big enough to tackle this on its own. I know I sound like a broken record but the Estate themself need to be posting proper responses on social media (as any business would) and going out to clear his name!
This is such a fucking mess, honestly.

Historic is right, I called this on the other thread about coping.
Most Kiwis are quite annoyed and think its an overreaction, TVNZ is apparently reconsidering the broadcast of Leaving Neverland after several major advertisers withdrew their ad spots during it, including harvey Norman and Trivago, the two most prolific and annoying advertisers here.
Trivago is a travel booking site, and Harvey Norman a large appliances and furniture store, known for their loud obnoxious shout style advertising, over promotion of high interest hire purchase deals at the poor and minorities and overpriced junk.

Yes New Zealand has loyal fans including HIStoric and Me and we are both bloody angry about this. I work for NZME one of the companies banning his music and are seriously thinking of quitting.
