If radio bans him then his sales go up. Lol.

If radio bans him then his sales go up. Lol. I'll be damned. Just checked on the actual store and he really is!
It's hilarious. One of the directors at MediaWorks (who own multiple radio stations here) said today in an opinion piece they anticipated people didn't want to listen to Michael Jackson. The fact he's literally only outranked by the biggest soundtrack of 2018 tells a COMPLETELY different story š

Right now I am down again. I am just so very sorry for Michael, this complete character assassination that he doesn't deserve. He worked so hard and he always put his heart in his work because he knew an artist is forever through his art. I am equally sad for his memory as a human being being tarnished. It breaks my heart how this beautiful soul gets nothing but crap from this world and only a select few will know that he was a great human being, for the rest he will be a monster. They will never get him, they will always misunderstand and misrepresent him. The most mistreated celebrity ever. I am so sad, because I just don't see the way out of it. Unless a miracle happens. All afternoon I just had this heartbreak for Michael.
You know a situation is real shit when the best thing about it is that Michael is dead and he doesn't have to suffer any more. I have these visual images of how he looked at the end of the trial. How completely broken he was. This whole situation is so unfair.

Affected me more than I thought. It's funny, I don't remember feeling this bad in '93 or even '05. It's bloody social media isn't it? Everyone's an expert. Been saying it for years but this bloody phrase of 'there's no smoke without fire' is worst ever and the MeToo brigade and liberalism of not daring to not believe a 'victim' is so damaging. And as I guess what you'd call a Liberal I hate to say that.

Seeing uninformed idiots talk about this stuff as if they know what they're talking about is so infuriating. It's so easy for them to sit on their chairs as if we haven't done research and know infinitely more about this stuff than they ever will.

only a select few will know that he was a great human being, for the rest he will be a monster. I don't think this will ever be the case, respect. MJ is believed and loved by millions of fans the world over. That hasn't changed. And I also see an encouraging amount of support from non-fans/casuals. My brother watched it today and he isn't especially invested in Michael... I was nervous about his reaction but he didn't buy it. People are more savvy and sceptical than we think, and for every person who thinks he was guilty, there's one person who thinks he was innocent and five people that don't care one way or the other. I get your feelings of disillusionment, I think we all do. I've been there. I literally felt sick when I first saw the photos of James/Wade walking into Sundance. But you more than anyone needs to look after yourself. You have been such a great ally to MJ and the fan community and we all owe you a debt of gratitude for the amount of work you have put in. You are tireless in your efforts and I know I speak for a lot of fans when I say you are greatly cherished in the fan community. Maybe on your next day off work you need to step away from it all, turn off Twitter, turn off the boards and recharge. You are too valuable to us all to be broken by this, respect.

How long do you think we'll have of this now?
Surely within a week of this airing all the fuss will blow over, unless something drastic happens.
I mean he viewing figures haven't been high, part 2 is on tonight and get less.
Everyone's who's going to discuss will surely have discussed it to death by the end of the week?
Twitter will calm down unless we're still provoking & responding to people.
Radio will probably be MJ-lite for a few weeks but then creep back.
Too positive?
Thoughts?

The programme has aired, MJ is dead, what's left to say? Of course, I'm sure Arvizo and Chandler have been offered large sums of $$ to come forward, especially at the moment as public interest is so high. But other than the extremely unlikely event of either of those two coming forward in the next few months, I think this'll be yesterday's news pretty fast.

It's so easy for them to sit on their chairs as if we haven't done research and know infinitely more about this stuff than they ever will. I totally agree with both of these points. Social media wasn't a factor in 1993 of course and it was in it's infancy (relative to how it is now) in 2005. We didn't have to deal with all these "experts" having a platform, making judgements and having it become fact. I've seen people I respect speak from a position of faux authority on the subject over the past few days. Everything they post as "fact" is something I've already seen a rebuttle for here, with the original source included. The difference is that when I see the source quoted here, there's always an original and independent thought behind the reply. I know that I'm one of the newest members here but I have to tell you that I'm SO thankful for this board. I would feel so alone in this if it wasn't for this board. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I've chosen to not engage people elsewhere whether it's on social media or otherwise. It's just too draining for me. My close circle of friends have either looked into this properly themselves or they trust me opinion on the subject enough to know LN is bullshit. Between that and this board, I'm going to be ok.

You know a situation is real shit when the best thing about it is that Michael is dead and he doesn't have to suffer any more. I have these visual images of how he looked at the end of the trial. How completely broken he was. This whole situation is so unfair. This ultimately sums up my sentiments. Michael was most of all human. The media, et al, always had a tendency to dehumanize him. It took Michaelās death for the media and the world to truly look upon him in a positive light again. But now with the advent of Leaving Neverland, it feels as though the media and the world has resumed what itās always done best: strip him of all his humanity, portray him in the worst possible light, and disseminate the worst possible lies about his character. And given that, for example, (IIRC) Channel 4 have turned down opportunities to air positive pieces about MJ on multiple occasions, thatās no surprise whatsoever. I feel like his legacy and reputation are both permanently tarnished. I canāt begin to imagine what this is doing to his children. Obviously Dan, James, and Wade didnāt stop to consider how devastating this would be for his children, or just didnāt care either way. Dan has too much of a vested interest in making the movie a success, Wade only does whatās best for Wade (the opportunist that he is), and James probably thinks the potential financial gain (with respect to the appeal later this year) is too promising to pass up (especially since he owes the estate several thousand dollars in legal fees, and Wade owes the estate seventy thousand dollars in legal fees... hmm...). Whilst his legacy and reputation are definitely at stake, his children are the truest victims in all this. I still find it difficult to fathom how many are subscribing to the belief that MJ was guilty based upon the graphic details of LN alone (and maybe a bit of acting from Wade and his family, along with Jameās āsad faceā). I feel like LN has garnered far too much attention and praise, especially for a movie that only relies upon anecdotal āproofā and emotional sway to win viewers over. But I guess you donāt need more than that in this era of āMe Tooā, where the accusation itself is deemed āevidenceā and if you dare question any accusation, accuser, or claim of misconduct, you are a victim shamer and an apologist for sex offenders... And thatās what makes it ultimately arduous to talk sense into those persuaded by LN. The sheer possibility that someone could and would wrongfully accuse another of sexual misconduct, especially for their own personal gain, that would throw the Me Too movement into complete disarray, so itās simpler for most to just blindly and unquestioningly believe all who claim they were abused, even at the expense of the presumption of innocence, the court of law, due process, etc. This is not to say that actual victims of sexual abuse donāt deserve a voice - they warrant that opportunity to speak out and share their story more than anyone. But it isnāt acceptable to conflate actual victims of abuse with disingenuous āvictimsā.

Not sure about James, since he seems extremely uncomfortable in every interview, but Wade is clearly intent on building a career off the back of this, so I'm sure he'll try to get as much attention as he can. But I agree that he probably won't get many opportunities for this. It's actually already been in the news cycle ridiculously long (since mid-January), so once this has aired everywhere, I think it'll die down.

Hey MattyJam in a couple of weeks when hopefully all this has died down, can we archive all LN related threads or at least move them to the Trials subsection and letās all move on and start arguing about too many guest raps on Invincible or some such trivial shit.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I certainly don't wanna drag this out longer than we have to. I just don't want to tempt fate by getting ahead of myself. I think we need to sit tight for a couple of weeks and hopefully, once aazzaabb's come out of hiding we can dump all this shit in one thread and talk about the things that really matter, like Invincible being better than Bad.
