Hey MattyJam in a couple of weeks when hopefully all this has died down, can we archive all LN related threads or at least move them to the Trials subsection and let’s all move on and start arguing about too many guest raps on Invincible or some such trivial shit. Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I certainly don't wanna drag this out longer than we have to. I just don't want to tempt fate by getting ahead of myself. I think we need to sit tight for a couple of weeks and hopefully, once aazzaabb's come out of hiding we can dump all this shit in one thread and talk about the things that really matter, like Invincible being better than Bad.That’s the second worst thing I’ve heard this week.

A popular german tv show which deals with pretty sensitive topics has made a facebook post about MJ. They asked if his music should be banned from radio stations. I am honestly surprised: not ONE negative comment. Hundreds of comments defending him, I sure was not expecting that people who do not even seem to be fans don't buy it.

Ugh. I've just had someone I know in real life post about LN on their Facebook timeline. She posted a link to the Louis Theroux comment, as if he somehow has some kind of authority on the subject.
I didn't hold back in my response. Works going to be nice and awkward tomorrow.

It really pissed me off. I don't usually like to lecture people on my Facebook, but I felt the need to post this. Even if it makes just one person question what they've seen, I'll be happy.

I didn't hold back in my response. Works going to be nice and awkward tomorrow. I just saw that the person who owns the other forum I'm on posted to their Facebook that they deleted all their MJ songs becuase of "the second half of the second part" of LN. I started typing a reply, then decided to take the same stance I have on his forum; no comment. From everything I've read, his stance is "you have to watch the documentary. These guys are just believable". That's such a weak POV that I can't even bring myself to point out how weak minded it is. I'm thankful to know that all of my real life friends aren't dumb enough to fall for this shit. I also work remotely, so I I'm thankful I don't have to face people this week for "water cooler talk"

That’s the second worst thing I’ve heard this week. Now THAT deserves a Channel 4 documentary! I'll sit there with tears in my eyes and gazing into the distance. 'You, you, you know... *wipes tear*... this man has caused a lot of anger for claiming Invincible is superior to Bad *gulps*' Then the narrator Brian Blessed will read from my court document. 'Defendent MattyJam has caused Plaintiff Thriller untold sadness and anger. Had it not been for the damage of defendent, Plaintiff would have continued on his path of greatness and become the world's greatest nude life model. Thriller couldn't bring his claim any sooner than he did as he did not psychologically understand, in spite of seeing MattyJam's thoughts on Invincible well over a year go, that his sadness and anger was related to MattyJam's thoughts.' 'Defendent is unable to work as a nude life model, listen to music, watch anything, eat, sleep, drink, and breath properly. He now lives in a shopping trolley in the car park of his local supermarket.' 'Motion for Jury Trial... or a settlement of £3.47 and a packet of sour Skittles'.

Let me point out something here. Michael Jackson, having been banned on radio and receiving extremely one-sided negative publicity for child molestation allegations, is still in the Top Ten on New Zealand's iTunes.
#8 isn't as impressive as #2, sure. But today's Friday when new albums get dropped. Aside from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, who might I remind made the biggest soundtrack of 2018, every single album ahead of MJ was released this morning - so sales are naturally at their fastest.
But we don't stop there. He's still beating Queen - currently the biggest legacy artist across the board thanks to the huge reception to their film Bohemian Rhapsody. He's even beating Red Hot Chili Peppers who will be playing to a sold-out crowd in New Zealand's biggest city in just 8 hours time! - and we all know how a band's albums do well when they're in town! (I expect it to go up - but still).
Once again, the documentary won't air for another 2 days here but it's about the little things right now

This is really fucking bad, honestly. I know we're at the worst of it, but it's spiraling out of control now I feel.
A complete contrast to the above post I know... and yeah normally I'd tell myself it'll be fine in a few weeks when everyone moves on... but honestly this time I just don't know. I feel it's happened too many times to him now and in this climate, it's going to legitimately ruin his legacy.

I guess it depends where in the world you are and if he'd been removed from radio here, I'd feel the same. Keep strong.

Radios removing him is sporadic (who listens to radio anyway) and may be temporary.
We gotta make sure we stream him.

(There's a joke about Wade and James' stories in there somewhere).
I am legitimately worried about his legacy, and public perception. Since he died, it's been okay to be a Michael Jackson fan and be proud of it. Now I feel that's at stake. I'm sure one day when this is all over I'll go back to my "Fuck you, fuck this, I'm right, I know I'm right so I don't care" attitude... but today just isn't it chief.
Just have to ride it out aye and see how we go. You keep strong too man. Hope you're doing okay.

I know that feeling of it having been ok to be an MJ fan and be proud of it. I've been fearing that not being ok again for a while due to this "documentary".
I was just telling my friend last night that for me, absolutely NOTHING has changed. If anything, I'm now better armed for debates if/when they come up in the future. I have no plans of not reprenting Michael as much as I did before. I mean... I have a tattoo of him on my leg for christssake. If or when that triggers discussions with the warmer weather coming up, I just feel I'm far better armed to have a discussion / debate with someone if they bring up this sham of a film this summer.
The thing I'm flip flopping about is weather I give a remote shit what the general public thinks anymore. They never really loved him like we do. They certainly never made any attempt to understand him like we do. They used him at every chance they got and they shit on him at every chance they got. I'm not so sure I give a remote damn how any of them view him now. They made up their mind about him when he was here to defend himself and they've made up their mind about him even when he's not here to defend himself.
In short; I'm leaning towards being at peace with the fact that for me, nothing has changed.

Not a single person aside from my wife has mentioned Michael Jackson and that travesty of a documentary.
I'm surprised so far, actually. But it's good as all my debating is strictly online.
One of my newest posts on the Sky News Facebook page has 42 likes and not a single laughing emoji. Most I've ever had that wasn't football related.
It's good to see most people aren't buying into it online.

I've been freaking about this since it was announced and this week has probably been the worst. For a few days I felt nauseated, couldn't eat well at dinner time, and was just depressed. I even decided to take a partial break from MJJC cause the negativity and paranoia there was too much. I haven't checked the main LN thread on there in a few days.
I'm not ready to face my family this weekend. I don't know how many of them are aware of this crap or how they feel, but if they are and it's negative towards Michael, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
