The last 2-3 episodes of the Mandalorian were far better than the shitshow that was The Rise of Skywalker last year. I'm not too keen on the episodes where the story is barely progressed, but once they focus on the story of the Empire trying to get their hands on Grogu it's just fantastic.
Also loved Temeura Morrison's return as Boba Fett. Easily one of the most badass characters in the show.

I actually liked the fact that each episode was it's own thing as well as progressing the story. I've really grown tired of long drawn out plots in shows. I'm really glad that they brought Boba back, Temeura is great and plays the role really well. It just makes sense he would play him considering he played Jango in the prequels. Some people's reaction to the ending was rather predictable and telling to me though. I enjoyed it but c'mon, Luke swings his lightsaber around and cuts up some robots for 5 mins and I'm seeing people going "OMG THEY FINALLY DID LUKE RIGHT!!11".

Yeah that seems to be one part of the show polarising people. I think I just get a bit bored if there are too many episodes in a season where little is progressed in terms of story or character - even if they are entertaining on the surface. Others like when he goes off on little random adventures. And I agree re:Temeura, he also voiced Boba in the 2004 Special Editions. And omg I didn’t know you could do spoilers on this forum! Yeah I know what you mean. I did think about the idea once Ahsoka mentioned that a Jedi would come to Grogu, but I forgot once the episode played. The second I saw that one X-wing though, I knew. The face replacement CGI was bleh though, like on par with a YouTube replacement. Perhaps it’s because they had to limit the number of people working on it (given leaks) and then maybe working from home didn’t help either. They should get Sebastian Stan to play Luke and then use CGI to modify him slightly more to look like Luke, dub him over with Mark just like they did here. I liked the ending though. It was great seeing how terrifying those deathtroopers were, but them be absolutely nothing to a Jedi Master.

CONTAINS SPOILER
I just watched it. Really good show, even better than season one and by far the best Disney Star Wars product. I liked the characters, both good and bad ones. Moff Gideon was a charismatic villain, the dark troopers were badass af, Bobba Fett is back, Luke is back and we finally get to see the Mandelorian's face.
I thought second part of Season 2 was better with finally the Empire entering the picture and of course the Jedi (Ashoka and Luke). You just have to have that stuff in a SW movie. When I saw the X-wing I knew it was gonna be Luke.
I liked Ashoka Tano as well. I'm not familiar with the character because I didn't see the animated series.
So will there be a Season 3? With Mando accidentally becoming king of Mandalore with the dark saber and the other Mandelorian trying to take it from him? LOL.

I cried with The Mandalorian's last episode, it had tension, it had Terminator vibes, it was emotional and it made me feel like the 10 year old child in me who enjoyed Star Wars for the first time again. Some fans may complain about the fan service but hell, Disney finally made justice to the franchise and a Jedi in particular since it was acquired by them. Yeah, I agree. This is by far the best SW film in the Disney era. Finally one that captures the old spirit.

She interviewed Rian and apparently his trilogy is still happening. Awesome news.

VERY very keen! This is the Star Wars series I've been most excited about happening, and I'm so glad both Ewan and Hayden are coming back. Also directed entirely by Deborah Chow, who is renowned for having directed some of the best episodes of The Mandalorian.

Not really sure how to feel about the last boba episode tbh. Really just feels like we're going round in circles and was really hoping the disney plus stuff was gonna stay away from that. Seems like it's all just becoming "haha I remember that" once again.

I've been excited for this for a long time, but the direction the other shows have been going kinda has me concerned. I will watch it for sure though haha.

Seems like it's all just becoming "haha I remember that" once again. It was a weirdly structured show - which I'm not necessarily against (these series are the perfect time to try new things) but I'm not sure it worked well. On the whole, while I did really enjoy the odd episode (I thoroughly enjoyed Episode 2 for example - and of course the Mando episodes), averaged out the series was very average for me. I was only whelmed by the season finale, though I did enjoy Boba riding the rancor. That was cool.
I like Temuera Morrison, but I'm also biased because I just think it's cool to see an NZer front and centre, but also to see how he's help bring the indigenous Māori culture into Star Wars (especially in Episode 2 there).

I've been excited for this for a long time, but the direction the other shows have been going kinda has me concerned. I will watch it for sure though haha. My only consistent complaint across the various live-action Star Wars series is too much fucking desert planets!
I always expected Kenobi to largely center on Tatooine and while that may not be the case, I was and am fine with that because it makes sense story wise. At the same time, I would've rather Boba Fett take place in another planet/biome because before that show, The Mandalorian has already spent a bit of time in desert planets, and even then we've also seen a lot of desert planets in both Episode 7 and 9.
Say what you want about George Lucas' execution of the prequel trilogy, but the man and the crew of the prequels absolutely nailed it with the worldbuilding and creating all these unique biomes. Sure they visited desert planets, but there was a lot of variety. Even Geonosis felt different enough from Tatooine because of it's different colour.
But the fact I'm already emotionally invested in the character of Obi-Wan, I'm already invested in Ewan and Hayden for their portrayals, it's been directed entirely by one of the best Mando directors, and it's merely a limited series so you won't feel it being needlessly dragged out... oh yeah, I'm excited. I haven't been this excited for a Star Wars project since The Rise of Skywalker. Let's hope it turns out anything but 😂

I've suffered from Star Wars fatigue since Rise of Skywalker (which I cant explain?). Need to watch S2 of Mandelorian and get caught up.

Definitely watch S2 of Mando. Immeasurably better than TROS.

Rise Of Skywalker made me dislike Star Wars for quite a while tbh, probably the most vapid creatively bankrupt thing I've seen in a long time.
