Hello There ๐
This is easily the most anticipated thing I've had for Star Wars in the last few years, but after this... I don't think there's really anything else that's been announced that I'm hyped for (not that it means I won't check them out - I will if they look cool).

I can't deny I'm excited for it, obviously there's certain things I hope they don't do that they're definitely gonna do lol.

Book of Boba Fett was kind of a disappointment so hopefully this show does better.

Without any spoilers please....anyone seen Obi Wan series yet? Recommended? I'm not blown away and it's not that deep or anything, but I'm enjoying it. It's really great to see Ewan as Obi-Wan again, and you can tell he's definitely using an acting style closer to Alec Guinness to help bridge the character between 3 and 4. I also really like the small moments where you see Obi-Wan suffering from PTSD as a result of the events that took place in Episode III. Speaking of which, fantastic opening to the first episode.
It's no spoiler that Vader is back (he is in the marketing material and literally on the big Disney+ banner carousel right now) and I'm enjoying Vader's portrayal too. Lucasfilm have definitely been pushing Vader to be this fucking frightening tank of a figure since Disney took over - think to his famous scene from Rogue One, or how he was portrayed in the video game Jedi Fallen Order (see here, spoilers for the game). Vader's just like that here.
That's all I'll really say if I keep it spoiler-free. But yeah I guess I'd say... maybe 7-7.5/10 from me?

Appreciate it!! I'll have to give it a go. It may help me get over my Hayden Christensen PTSD.

I'm enjoying it. Wouldn't say it's been the best thing ever but it's enjoyable enough, looking forward to the next episode. Seeing a lot of weird petty complaints about it that I just can't take seriously though.
I think when you're watching a space fantasy show you can suspend your disbelief for some things and just enjoy the ride (not talking about The Rise Of Skywalker level garbage). It seems Star Wars fans don't actually want to like Star Wars sometimes though.

Two great episodes, followed by two eh episodes, followed up by two fantastic final episodes.
Id give it between 7-8/10. Once I adjusted my expectations a bit and took just as โObi-Wan going on adventuresโ, I enjoyed it a good bit more.

The finale was very cool. Spoilers below. I really, really enjoyed the final fight between Obi-Wan and Vader. I was a bit disappointing with the one in Ep 3 initially because Vader was toying about more, only using one arm etc. It didn't seem worthy to be THE new rematch between them. But now in the context of the whole series, I'm glad it's a more subdued fight. Because in that fight, and when Vader fights back against the Third Sister, he is clearly toying with his enemy, only uses one arm to fight them off like it's nothing (and hell, with the Third Sister, he doesn't even take out his lightsaber) so when we see him finally use BOTH arms in this final fight with Kenobi, you can tell Vader isn't playing anymore and he wants Kenobi DEAD. I loved how they used the enviroment too, using the force to catapult rocks at each other. In fact, when Kenobi destroyed Vader's mask, I also loved hearing it halfway between Hayden Christensen's voice and the robotic, synthetic voice of James Earl Jones. That was really cool. They make good use of the glowing lightsaber props they have now, I just looooove seeing all the reflections off Vader's helmet. Both from lightsabers and from hyperspace (that one shot in Ep 5 where the camera turns around Vader as he stares out of the front in hyperspace).

The mask part was chilling and very well done. Really cemented in Obi Wan's mind that there was nothing left of his friend in there and also rid him of the guilt he was feeling about his own failure.

In the middle of a Star Wars rewatch. Ive been a casual fan many years, I saw the prequels in the cinema and the originals when they were on TV but that was about it. I never watched any of the animated series or read another of the books or comics. It was really when The Force Awakens came out I started getting into it more. The filming at Skellig Michael in Co Kerry, near where my grandparents used to live was big news in Ireland at the time, so I was really interested to see what it turned out like in the film.
So I went on a big rewatch then and bought the original trilogy and the prequels on DVD to catch up on the timeline before The Force Awakens.
And then when Solo and Rogue One came out I got them on DVD too.
Around the same time I became active in the Disney online community and started following the building progress of Galaxys Edge.
I never knew about the expanded universe until Galaxys Edge, and until the Disney Plus series of The Mandalorian I didnt relalize how much information in the animated series and books carried over to the films and now all the new series on Disney Plus.
I'm now doing a deep dive rewatch starting with The Phantom Menace. Im using The Clone Wars chronological episode order on starwars . com and I'm now on Season 1 of The Clone Wars.
