I can absolutely understand and agree with your comment. I'm just confused as to how an older fan could accept episode 8 as it is. But as I say, I'm coming from a COMPLETELY different perspective. Thoughts on Rogue One, folks?

Main issue with Rogue One is that the female lead looked way too much like Rey So was very jarring (Jar Jaring).

As far as Last Jedi goes, I thought it was ok. I didn't like it as much as Force Awakens but didn't flat out hate it. I will admit I'm a bit reluctant to watch it again... >.> Hoping that episode IX is much better.

So, what do we think of the trailer?... Copy and pasting my thoughts from the other thread...
I'm excited, of course.
There's things I'm excited about and things I'm unsure of, but will reserve my judgement until I see the film. I'm not too big on Kylo restoring his helmet, but we do see him fighting without it so I'm keen to see what they're doing with that. I wish Rey was wearing a new outfit this time, it's a slightly modified, more sharper/cleaner version of her Episode 7 outfit. I'm guessing this is so her scenes with Carrie Fisher work better (though I guess they could've just CGI'd a new outfit over the old footage? IDK).
I'm quite keen to see what they do with Palpatine. For the past couple years, hearing Luke's line "No-one's ever really gone" has been a really good-feeling line, with a lot of emotional weight canon-wise as both Han and Luke are now gone, but also in real life coincidentally due to Carrie Fisher's death. To see it twisted on it's head as this trailer has done by revealing Palpatine might be back in some way is some great execution. For some reason, I've never thought of it like that.
I don't believe Palpatine will be back as a person. I'm guessing more in a ghost/spiritual kind of way. I have a few theories about how he's influenced beings through the force. If you're wondering why we haven't seen him yet but we have seen, say, Ghost Obi-Wan in the original trilogy, I believe it's canon that Jedi are free to roam after death, whereas Sith are bound to haunt the place they died. This fits in as to why Rey, Poe, Finn and the like are approaching the debris of the Death Star II. Some people might be saddened that such a spoiler has been revealed in the first teaser, but given they're generally VERY light on spoilers in these trailers, I think there's going to be bigger twists in the film.
I am a bit... interested too about how this will wrap up, and how The Last Jedi might fit in stylistically (as much as I love the film) given the two films bookending TLJ are done by the same director. Still, I'm optimistic! I have a lot of faith in JJ Abrams and the rest of the cast and crew.

I liked it, but I'm being cautiously optimistic about the movie as a whole. Hoping it will be better than Last Jedi.
I did mark out big time for a certain character that finally returned. XD

Can someone explain to me why people don't like the last Jedi. Not asking anyone to justify their opinions to me just want to understand. Most of the reason I have seen are "Luke was different" even though his character wasn't that different and it was explained what happened in the movie, or "those damn feminists" which isn't really an actual reason. I don't think the movie not doing what you expected is really a reason to completely disregard it. I think people who call the movie a train wreak are really over reacting.

Neither of those are my main issues, definitely not the feminism (ah, Phasma?). Il have to write a proper list of why I hate it, but I equally hate hearing "just because they tried something different". Bollocks. Its a bad film. It shits all over TFA.
