MJ: the good news thread

In a word: AWESOME.

We had a bout 20 or so people over the course of the night. Everyone told stories how Michael effected their lives in some way. Talked about what an awesome performer he was. I shared a lot of things the average person doesn't know about him and everyone just celebrated him. It was just an awesome night. I feel like he would be proud which is the best thing I can say about it. I took about 10 pics or so but I'm kinda in a hurry so I'll just post one for now so you get the idea:

AP has an interesting article out "Michael Jackson’s popularity endures, even after new scandal". Pretty much restating the lack of impact LN had overall, though it does mention that a Jackson 5 50th special was scrapped - most of the article is pretty much good news though. 

I wonder if its the statue from the Netherlands because I read it was painted.

You know, I have to admit this has put me in a weirdly good mood, despite what day it is. Maybe it isn't good news in a 'traditional sense' because they still make reference to Leaving Neverland, but after witnessing these NZ media outlets relentlessly try to destroy his reputation back in March (seriously, there were stories about him daily for WEEKS), this feels like them having to admit that - in the grand scheme of things - they lost. They failed. The true victim here ultimately triumphed. People aren't falling for their bullshit and the King of Pop still righteously remains on top and loved worldwide. No, it's not perfect and it's not like it was before, but it's something.

Before I went to sleep this morning, I was also reading through the Twitter trend about his anniversary and I was really glad to see that literally 90% of posts were actually positive. We've had a pretty tough year this year, but it's the little things like these that help.
