Figured I'd share this too. This is the description I wrote for the fb event: Well? How did it go!? In a word: AWESOME. We had a bout 20 or so people over the course of the night. Everyone told stories how Michael effected their lives in some way. Talked about what an awesome performer he was. I shared a lot of things the average person doesn't know about him and everyone just celebrated him. It was just an awesome night. I feel like he would be proud which is the best thing I can say about it. I took about 10 pics or so but I'm kinda in a hurry so I'll just post one for now so you get the idea:

More articles from the NZ press that are actually positive: Michael Jackson still 'master of the craft': Michael Jackson's estate pays tribute on the 10th anniversary of his death (this is actually the highlighted article in the Entertainment section on their homepage too - it's basically just the Estate's statement) www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/music/113778613/michael-jacksons-estate-pays-tribute-on-the-10th-anniversary-of-his-deathMichael Jackson's popularity endures, even after new Leaving Neverland scandal (Same article you've seen everywhere) www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/celebrities/113778643/michael-jacksons-popularity-endures-even-after-new-leaving-neverland-scandalYou know, I have to admit this has put me in a weirdly good mood, despite what day it is. Maybe it isn't good news in a 'traditional sense' because they still make reference to Leaving Neverland, but after witnessing these NZ media outlets relentlessly try to destroy his reputation back in March (seriously, there were stories about him daily for WEEKS), this feels like them having to admit that - in the grand scheme of things - they lost. They failed. The true victim here ultimately triumphed. People aren't falling for their bullshit and the King of Pop still righteously remains on top and loved worldwide. No, it's not perfect and it's not like it was before, but it's something. Before I went to sleep this morning, I was also reading through the Twitter trend about his anniversary and I was really glad to see that literally 90% of posts were actually positive. We've had a pretty tough year this year, but it's the little things like these that help.

We've had a pretty tough year this year, but it's the little things like these that help. I went to sleep listening to the Superman OST because nothing cheers me up better. Waking up to that, I put on MJ thinking today would be a day to get through. But like you, I feel today has been a good day. I know we are all different people, but today was a good day for me at least. Im sitting here, last track of BOTF playing on the turntable reading all the positive articles and comments online. To be honest, the amount of negative comments ive seen today seemed no more than previous years!
