It's called acting. Going by Eddie's logic, he shouldn't have played Stephen Hawking either because he's not a brilliant physicist, Anthony Hopkins was a cannibalistic serial killer, Johnny Depp was a 18th century pirate, Gary Oldman was Dracula and so on. Does he realize how ridiculous his statement sounds? Wokeness and virtue signaling have made people in Hollywood stupid and even more out of touch of what they were.
