I was genuinely disappointed Brad didn't talk about Morphine, Just Good Friends was a special moment in time given the people involved in but it still is one of the most generic songs from MJ's catalog. As for Brad Buxer, I liked he went straight to the point and didn't ramble, as well as seeing as something positive Michael was mostly involved in Dangerous and HIStory, unlike Quincy's friends who saw him as "the star who wanted to do too much." We fans noticed indications Michael was in a dark place during the recording of Invincible and afterwards but I never understood why, the media wasn't attacking him relentlessly in 2000 and 2001 like they did after the allegations and the HIStory era, him being in that dark place made not to be as involved in that álbum compared to all his others. Midlife crisis, I suppose?Yeah, I'd like to know what happened there. On one hand he finally had the children he always wanted. On the other hand his relationship with LMP disintegrated and he also had the accident at the MJ & Friends concert.

On the other hand his relationship with LMP disintegrated and he also had the accident at the MJ & Friends concert. Those two events would make the most sense. I think that accident messed with his health even more, and losing Lisa probably made him question if he could ever be in a normal romantic relationship. Loved hearing Buxer and Michael Prince's interviews. Was cool to hear Buxer talk about the Sonic music, as brief as it was. Prince's insights into Hollywood Tonight are pretty interesting too, especially how he brings up Teddy Riley saying "Finally, something that sounds like Michael".

The Michael Boddicker session wasn't too great, I sensed Quincy Jones' influence on him as they're still friends. Only 5% talent in MJ? oKaaayyyy I just watched the Matt Forger one and he actually contradicted Boddicker. Boddicker was like MJ was hard to work with once he left Quincy and he brought an example of MJ calling him to do a guitar solo and he asked "OK, but in what key" and MJ was like "wait a minute", hung up and called him again "it's an E" etc. Probably asking someone else. Basically saying because MJ didn't read music it was hard to work with him. But Forger actually said the opposite. He talked about how MJ always expressed himself very clearly in what he wanted etc. I guess it depends on the other person as well, not just MJ, how well they could understand each other.
Why is it that all these people who are close to Quincy seem to have condescending attitudes towards MJ?
In that Let's Make HIStory book also everyone was very complimentary of MJ and appreciated his talents, the one exception was Larry Williams who came across as extremely condescending to me. And he was just kissing Quincy's butt. Basically all he said about HIStory was that too bad Quincy didn't produce it. I noticed this pattern with Quincy associates. One has to wonder how he talks about MJ with his friends behind the scenes. But then how he talks about him publicly can give us an idea about that.
It’s interesting because no one made them accept MJs calls. I’m pretty sure he could’ve found someone else. But let’s be real how many of these people were getting offers outside of working with MJ considering how music had changed on the 90s?

Matt Forger is such a sweetheart when he talks about MJ, I'll give it a listen later. /

I feel like it was a clickbait podcast episode but I hope in part 2 Matt will discuss further on Captain Eo.
