These awards don’t mean anything anymore. We all know they were brought so don’t worry too much. I see it as an attempt to do damage control and legitimise the documentary I'm trying not too but I am worrying for the exact reason you said: if it wins it could help legitimize the documentary. Joe Schmoe public doesn't really think or care about the details and power plays involved with awards. They see the name "Emmy" or "Oscar" and automatically associate it with prestige because they have been trained to do so. If this wins anything, it could very well affect Michael's legacy even more in the years to come, and no amount of protesting about it will fix anything. Maybe in time more people will wake up, but it feels so hopeless right now. Joe Schmoe has no idea about which films won Emmys and especially not about minor categories like documentary. Do you know what documentaries won Emmys in the last years? Because I have no idea. That's Joe Schmoe for you. In my country I haven't even seen the nominations mentioned on the news website I visit and even when the awards are given it is usually some small footnote and that about the main categories. People don't even care about the Oscars like that any more, let alone the Emmys. I really think fans are overdramatizing this a bit. The main damage this film could do is already done. It was aggressively advertised for weeks. Major newspapers and magazines endorsed it. So whoever thinks that's the kind of thing that gives a film legitmity, I'm sorry to say, but already has that legitmity. The Emmys won't change much in that.

As shite as it is that it got noms, the only people that care are MJ fans, and his friends/family obviously. This wont undo any of the damage that has already been undone. If you get me... Listen to The Ultimate Collection guys

So Diane Dimond stalked 13-14 yo Jordan Chandler during the allegations. Yet, people like her call fans crazy.

This doesnt surprise me. Bowling for Columbine was literally named after something that was a myth, that they went bowling before the massacre. They didnt. But its a good title eh.

The media states over and over again how the truth is irrelevant to them re. LN. A fucking Twilight Zone.

HBO being the second biggest sponsor of the Emmys submitted LN regardless of how unethical and one sided it is.

It is true the documentary category does get overlooked at the Emmys. Then again, this IS Michael Jackson we're talking about, so who knows. I'm going to hope that it doesn't get any bigger and the focus remains on GoT. I'm sorry to all if I came off as overreacting... It's been a rough week and all of this did not help. This is just so agonizing and sad. Imagine being so motivated by money you become ignorant and thoughtless. And now that assclown Arvizo is breeding? God. Though I worry about fans flooding his wife's Etsy page... while I get the anger it's just not a good look for the fans to raid someone. That happened with Chandler's sister and she shut down her Facebook as a result.
