Airing March 3rd on HBO as per their HBOPR Twitter account. I found it doubtful that they wouldn't show it. Too much publicity to miss out on by not showing it. Also the media don't care for the veracity of the claims, so I don't see HBO facing that much of a back lash from the general public.

^^If they're gonna air air either way, it'd be fair allowing the estate to delay it to come up with a rebuttal.

I think even if HBO may decide it does not meet their journalistic standards (and I doubt they will after comissioning and fincancing it), it will probably picked up by other channels. Channel 4 probably do not have any qualms about journalistic standards either. So I think, either way, it will air. So I think the best the Estate can do is to have it delayed (preferably on every channel, not just HBO), until they can prepare a rebuttal and then require to have the rebuttal aired in tandem with Leaving Neverland. Channel 4 have no qualms about broadcasting one sided documentaries as they did last year with the "Ballymurphy Precedent". That documentary disregarded blatant facts about PIRA and the director was biased towards them. Pretty much the same thing with Dan Reed and LN.

^^If they're gonna air air either way, it'd be fair allowing the estate to delay it to come up with a rebuttal. I doubt they care for fairness. A negative documentary will give them huge publicity. Plus I imagine issues with Reed and the lawyers would arise if a rebuttal to it was to air straight after. As an aside, I don't understand why Friedman thought AT&T (new owners of HBO) would fear bad press from the documentary. The media have talked nonsense about MJ for 25 years. As if they'll suddenly give up salacious headlines and stories to tell the world there's no evidence for the claims being made.

Too bad. I hoped for a moment that at least we would win a little more time.

Yep, could not really see HBO or Channel 4 not showing this. It was always going to happen.
All that is left now is for the Estate to come out fighting. Expose these liars for what they are. Get the information out there. A rebuttal doc is all well and good but that would take months to organise and film, and there is no guarantee any mainstream tv channel would pick it up. They will need to go on a media blitz around the time this is due to air.

Some highlights. Wade was eager to work on the This Is It movie. More lies under oath. James's abuse at the Grammys in 1989 simply cannot be. Respect is the only other person I've seen that noticed this. A myth created to try and build up the 'big bad threatening MJ' angle.

Brilliant letter. Exposes so many of the lies spouted by these two disgraceful human beings. They must now send a similar copy to Channel 4.
If HBO and/or Channel 4 don’t take action, then the Estate need to start a media blitz to get this info out there. It’s time to fight fire with fire.
We had an exceptional lawyer defending Michael in 2005 - Tom Mesereau - and he did a stellar job and got MJ acquitted. Today, Mike is dead and can’t defend himself. The Estate MUST go for a full on offensive. As Weitzman states in his letter, they have litigated against these two perjurer for several years. They are armed with the facts and the evidence of their lies.

It's a very good letter that provides an excellent basis for any fan to use in countering nonsense anywhere.
Personally, I think the MJ Estate should be sending the same letter to Channel 4 UK. After all, they co-funded this with HBO.

The DailyFail has now moved onto David Bowie and sex with underage girls. DailyFail Bowie
But of course it's double-standards for him, with comments stating it was a different era, we should change the age of consent to 14yo and these girls were willing groupies.

What a FANTASTIC statement. They need to post a shortened version of this to Michaels social media!

HBO boss:
You've set a premiere date for Leaving Neverland. Given the Jackson estate's comments that it's "a tabloid character assassination," do you have any trepidation about airing it?
Not at all. All I would ask is that anybody writing or thinking about it would watch it and reserve judgment until they see it. It's a very powerful documentary.
Are you prepared for potential backlash — or legal action — from the estate?
Yep. [We have] no plans to not air it.
After the Sundance screening and the estate's comments, was there a conversation with HBO CEO Richard Plepler or AT&T CEO John Stankey about sticking with the controversial doc?
No. Let's be clear: What controversy? There were two protesters at Sundance. Reserve judgment and watch it and decide for yourself.
And if the protests grow louder?
We're standing by it. It's very, very powerful.
Will you meet with the Jackson Estate given their newly released 10-page letter and claims that it ignores journalistic ethics?
No. The letter doesn't change anything. The show is airing. It's not changing because of the letter and I ask that everybody watch it and decide for themselves. It's a very, very powerful documentary and I think once they see it, they'll understand.
So, you have no interest in taking a meeting with the Jackson Estate?
No. There are no plans to take a meeting. We are airing the documentary and the letter is not going to change that.
---
They have a lot riding on this. They clearly don't care for the other side. I think they probably know there are major issues here, but simply care more for the publicity this will bring. Which of course is unsurprising.
