I cant really imagine they would go to this extreme for a small amount of filming at the ranch. Ice cream bikes etc!

The News agent had a private tour of the property and it is revealed that the neighbor’s cows are still permitted on the 2,700 acres property. Burkle, 68 years old, bought the property last year for $22 million and rumors had it that he planned to turn the ranch into a private club destination. But Mr. Burkle maintains that he has few grand plans beyond restoring the property and describes the deal as a land grab. “It’s just not a bad thing to have your money tied up in,” he says. Burkle also owned, restored and sold the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis House in Los Feliz where 3T and Michael filmed “WHY”. Burkle and Michael Jackson, Neverland’s original owner, had a history. Mr. Burkle said he visited the ranch in the mid-2000s as part of a program for disadvantaged children and hit it off with Mr. Jackson. He said the pop star called him the next day to say that he liked him and that, from now on, he would buy all his groceries at Mr. Burkle’s stores. Mr. Burkle served as an adviser to the singer on business matters, when the pop star was working to stave off financial disaster. He said that their relationship had little to do with the purchase and he was curious about the ranch and the remains of the train tracks, the empty zoo enclosures… “Michael Jackson hasn’t lived there in over 15 years,” he said, adding that he had fallen in love with the land and purchased the ranch from his friend Tom Barrack, an investor who heads Colony Capital, which co-owned the property with the Jackson estate after Michael Jackson defaulted on a loan. Ongoing construction at the ranch has fed speculation about whether Burkle may be interested in turning Neverland into a Soho House but he said it isn’t the case. He said his team is working on restoring parts of the ranch that were falling apart from neglect, such as replacing pipes. The train station, modeled after one at Disneyland, and which had been damaged by woodpeckers, is being restored, as is the Neverland flower clock. Many of the roads have also been upgraded. Mr. Burkle said he hopes that one day one of the trains may run again. “It was kind of a depressing place. It wasn’t the beautiful place that it was before. It just needed flowers and life in it again,” he said. He hasn’t talked about the fact that rides were put back within the property and what his intentions are for the future as the restorations are still ongoing. The property also includes a 12,000-square-foot Normandy-style mansion, guesthouses, a swimming pool with a cabana, a basketball court, a tennis court and a 50-seat movie theater. Mr. Gleason said the homes are in good condition. It is still unclear to what the plans for the property to be. www.wsj.com/articles/ron-burkle-neverland-and-other-homes-11625161492

Michael Jackson's Neverland, 3 Things People Should Remember
Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch has a new owner named Ronald Burkle. Burkle sees the 2,700 acres as a land bank opportunity, his spokesman said according to the AP. The property will always be known to the world as Michael Jackson's home, not just because he lived there, but because he shared it with many people.
Here are 3 things people should remember about Neverland, the Neverland Ranch:
1) Michael Jackson's Humanitarianism
The artist supported dozens of charities during his lifetime and was reportedly listed in the Guinness World Record Book as the ''artist who most donated money to charity in all time'' Jackson also opened his home to people from all over the world. Underprivileged, sick and, in some cases, layered together with their parents could have fun during the visit.
"Neverland is a world the way I'd like to see. I wanted it to be a place to take sick and underprivileged children from all over the world... A refuge for them, where they could feel safe and have some escapism. Or kids, who've never seen this kind of thing in country towns to breathe fresh air and see mountains and everything. " " —
2) The amusement park
Jackson was possibly the most photographed person in the world and needed to escape the media. Another reason he built the ranch, in addition to sharing it with others, was to create a place that incorporated what he lost as a child. Jackson also needed to break free from his fame. "I can't go into a park. I can't go to Disneyland like i do. I can't go out and walk down the street. And then I created my world behind the gates. "- Michael Jackson (Interview for Ed Bradley)
What made Neverland an icon was Jackson's vision. A landscape paradise property in detail designed to promote peace and family life. Including a zoo, a cinema and an amusement park. Two train lines ran across the 2,700-acre ranch and stopped at each attraction. Neverland Park also included a Ferris wheel, carousel, and bumper cars.
3) The police destroyed everything
The Neverland ranch has been extensively searched by police officers in connection with false allegations of sexual abuse twice. One in 1993 and one in 2003. The second time, they broke the entire ranch and unnecessarily spread rumors that Neverland was a sinister trap for children. Jackson was cleared of charges of 93 and 2003 in 2005. No evidence against him was found yet, the damage had been done.
Jackson stated that he would never live in Neverland again, as he no longer regarded it as a home. And he never came back. Despite prosecutor Tom Sneddon's attempt in 2003 to destroy Neverland and Wade Robson's reputation in later years, most people should remember jackson's ranch ideology.
A pure and innocent place for people of all ages to have fun.
