Very cool. I'm not happy with the release overall but the completest in me needs to get it on vinyl at least.

Still no press release detailing what this actually is? I mean, obviously I know it's a compilation etc, but what's it in aid of? There are some strange song choices included if it's supposed to be a horror/halloween theme. Unbreakable and Leave Me Alone and even Scream are all at odds with the overarching theme.
This whole project seems very strange to me.

Dont you know? Diana in Dirty Diana was actually a Witch, and the people Michael is singing about in Scream are the Zombies from Thriller. Leave Me Alone is clearly about Ola Ray and Unbreakable is the follow up to the Thriller Short Film and how he survived the zombie attack.

Michael Jackson's Estate Details 'Scream' Compilation "Electrifying and danceable tracks" to celebrate Jackson's "affection for this time of year and its themes of costumes and disguise"
Epic/Legacy Recordings and Michael Jackson's estate have curated Scream, a new compilation of Jackson's "most electrifying and danceable tracks" set for release on September 29th.
The Scream album pulls famous songs from Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix, Invincible and the posthumous LP Xscape. In a statement, Epic/Legacy Recordings noted that, "the choice of tracks for Scream reflects The King of Pop's affection for this time of the year and its themes of costumes and disguise, darkness and light, character transformations and surprise."
In addition to the songs from Jackson's solo LPs, Scream includes two songs that appeared on records by the Jacksons β "Torture" and "This Place Hotel" β plus Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me," which featured Jackson on hook duties. Scream also features one newly created piece of music, "Blood on the Dance Floor X Dangerous," a bonus mash-up put together by production duo The White Panda.

Thoughts on the mashup Matthew? Meh. Meh to the whole thing to be honest. I shan't be buying this. And anyone who cares about the estate releasing unreleased MJ music in the future shouldn't buy this either, cuz as long as shit like this sells, they ain't gonna be parting with the stuff we really want.

^ Bad25 already taught them not to focus on hard core fans, to be honest.

^ Bad25 already taught them not to focus on hard core fans, to be honest. Well, I can't see this release having much appeal to casual music fans either. The only demographic I can see buying this release will be diehard collectors who'll buy anything with MJs name attached to it.

^ The Michael album taught them that the hardcore fans aren't stupid though (responding to Respect)
I know I'll still buy. Collector and all that.

Just checked the track times lads, looks like they went with the shitty version of Xscape from 2014. They really want to push the Timbaland remixes as the "official versions." Xscape was one of the songs that didn't really need much of a touch-up IMO. The 'demo' sounded pretty complete to me but hey....whatever. lol.

It was literally worked on by the same producer MJ worked with originally.

Yeah can't see me getting this, at least not until I see it cheap.
Couple of strange choices and quite like the concept I guess, but in the world of streaming and Spotify playlists I'm not sure what purpose these types of compilations serve,
Having said that it's nice to see a Michael Jackson compilation with no frigging Billie Jean and five other songs from Thriller on it! We're always complaining that it's all people talk about,
