Vaccine's are coming. The age of Covid is coming to an end (hopefully). As the title suggests, will you get the vaccine?
Great news coming from the UK.
I for one will get the vaccine as soon as possible.

Based on the fact that I don't want to die or indeed make others die, then yes.
I'm just glad we have Twitter & Facebook so people can give their advice on what to do. Not sure how they managed in the Smallpox days.

Absolutely! I'll get it asap, though I suspect it will take a while before anyone but the elderly or people with pre-existing conditions can get vaccinated.
I hope we can all move on from this period relatively swiftly. I am a bit concerned that more and more people appear to be unwilling or at least very hesitant to get vaccinated...

Well I think that absolutely no one should be forced to get it, obviously. However, I would expect and hope their health insurance to absolutely sky-rocket as a consequence.

They say it isn't mandatory but I've already heard whispers in the care sector that employers can refuse to employ workers who haven't received the vaccine, so in that respect, it most definitely is mandatory for care workers like myself.

I can see that being the case in many places. It won't be against the law, but you will be considered a considerable health risk I suppose as you would be exposed to a virus that you could potentially pick up several times, meaning you are at risk of needing several weeks off work because of your decision. That's not me talking, more me thinking how an employer can justify this.

When a vaccine is widely available they aren't going to employ someone who can still be spreading the virus around.

The UK government quietly changed the law earlier in 2020 by allowing the vaccine to be unlicensed. Being unlicensed is there way of saying "we know most vaccine trials take years but we're rushing this through and don't want you to have no right to sue if you suffer health damage due to covid vaccine.

Not sure how they managed in the Smallpox days. Everyone had to get the smallpox vaccine once it was discovered and they were successful at eradicating it. Did a project on this back in middle school I guess I’ll get it, but also feel anxious about it cause it seems too new

Around 70,000 people were involved in the trials. Just watching Christiane Amanpour interview the Prof of Global Public Health in Edinburgh Uni and its fascinating. 10 months of work.

I don’t imagine I’ll be first in line to get it, but when it becomes available then yeah I’ll get it.
