I'm glad there are fandom spaces where we can discuss this stuff. It's always one of the first things I will read when I see it being discussed between fans. I never really join these conversations, I thought and do think about these things, but I only really discuss this in real life with some trusted friends or family.
But as fans these topics are thrown into are faces all the time. You can't really enjoy Michael's work with people, because at one point someone will join in with the typical innocent-or-not question. So keeping this out of the mainforum here is just common sense, the peace we all need, haha
I still want to make a short comment on the topic. Here for example the inscription. Things like this ... everyone interprets it in their own ways. So I don't really need to discuss this with someone or convince someone from my own point of view. I could even argue from their point of view. Everyone believes what they want to believe is more likely. If someone thinks Michael is a crazy psychopath ... well that is what they believe, so from their point of view everything makes sense. I don't think he is, so from my point of view all that stuff is more complicated. We all know a lot about him and his life. If I would meet someone that knows only the tabloid headlines and would think he is guilty, I would explain things to them. But if they are like "I was a fan too, I know everything about him, he is guilty", then I don't see the need to talk more about this.
If someone would bring these books up and question why someone would have them, I would ask them if naked children are sexual for them. Personally I would feel uncomfortable with books like these too, but it's not because that is my natural thinking. It's because we are more paranoid about this stuff now. When I look at photoalbums of my childhood and see naked pictures of myself I cringe. I wouldn't say that it's natural that I feel uncomfortable with that UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
Michael loved everything that was about childhood and innocence. Some will see this as twisted. I feel like I understand him. There is no need to call me naive, I know that the world is full of twisted things, but I'm tired that everyone just focuses on the worst case and ... I don't know .... just going full nihilism. An innocence child, running around naked, being curious about the world, the eyes full of wonder. That is what I feel is the topic here. Being free
Yes, you could say that he had these books for other reasons, for other pictures and had other things in mind, but you will never know. If someone is interested enough they will look deeper and make their own conclusions

This. At the end of the day, people will find what they want to find in these books based on their own prejudices. I think it's worth remembering that the books in question were found in 1993, not 2005, before people were so hyper-paniced about pedophilia. I think it was a different time, and whilst most people in 2021 would say they wouldn't be caught dead in possession of such material, I imagine it wasn't such a big deal and people from MJs generation weren't so paranoid about this stuff. It's also important to put these books in context. MJ was a millionaire hoarder, he kept A LOT of shit, books, trinkets, paraphernalia, keepsakes, his living quarters were usually very messy, disorganised and filled with junk. The amount of shit the investigators would've had to wade through to find those two books would've been immense. Haters deliberately put these (legal) books out of context to try and make a bigger deal out of them.

I don't make the rules on my own personal whim, but depending upon what I believe the majority of members want to see. What the majority wants to see or what Tony R and respect77 want to see?

these topics have already been addressed a million times so at this point it's just beating a dead horse. But if that's what you want to keep dwelling on, here's this section of the forum Don't you have an entire website dedicated to the allegations? And you accuse me of being the one to dwell on it?

Also, I would like to add that not every fan has poured over every detail on the allegations to death like some of you are making out. The haters bring this shit up all the time sure, but in the fanbase I rarely see these topics brought up. I think some fans feel uncomfortable bringing them up or like they're being bad fans by dragging up the allegations. Or pehraps they genuinely don't want to focus on that shit and that's fair enough, but to accuse someone who is just asking a genuine question - on a subject of which I don't believe has ever been discussed on this particular forum before - is a bit harsh.
I concede I should've posted it in the correct forum, but trying to draw attention to a specific post which I personally deem quite an important subject matter is different from attention seeking behaviour in general and I resent that comment and feel it is unfair.
Respect, you never forgave me for my posts back from when I was suffering terribly with my mental health. I have been very frank and honest and even apologetic about my struggles and how they came out in my posting a year or so ago. I am fortunately now in a much healthier mindframe and have made a conscious effort to clean up my act on this forum, but it feels like some posters will never let me forget.

It's a website and it's anyone's choice to go there and read. Or not. I'm not forcing anyone to go there. I'm not posting threads about it in the main forum. If I started threads about it I would do it in this section of the forum where it belongs. People caring to discuss these topics can find them in this section just fine.

I never heard anyone voicing a complaint about allegations/trial talk discussion having a separate section and all such discussion having to go there until now, by you. You are basically complaining about your topic not being exempt from the general rule on this forum.

Im sure theres info on there about the books I have read it and its a very good site. But I personally find it helpful chewing over some of these topics with other fans. It's healthy to get differing perspectives. The only reason I brought it up is because respect77 accused me of "dwelling" on the allegations, when my ratio of music-allegations posts is probably 95-5 and yet she is always discussing the allegations on here, on social media and on her own website.

I think you'll find you're in a minority of one Russ. Not going to apologise for liking threads by like-minded fans who I've known online for years.
