Still have a horrible feeling about this. I just can't see how an MJ biopic is needed at this point in time. Because everyone else is doing it. That seems to be the Estate's logic. Well, except for upgrading music videos on YouTube or a decent box set for anniversary release, because there they stubbornly resist the trend. The fact that they troll the fanbase tells us who they are. Sure, it’s funny at times but ultimately it’s a big fuck-you with a smile.

This is the kind of thing that’ll stay far at the back of my mind until they start releasing information about it.
I can’t say I have a promising feeling about it however. You just know there’s going to be a lot of controversy around who plays him. Hopefully it’s not some dreadful impersonator who got plastic surgery to permanently look like him, or whatever.

Knowing the estate it'll be a female white impersonator.

I wish I liked it. Watched it for the first time since cinema last week and turned it off soon after him and Mary broke up. Freddie spoke like 200 times faster than Malek, I dont know how he nabbed that oscar. Coincidentally I’m actually sat at work wearing my Queen T-shirt! I completely get why a hardcore fan such as yourself doesn’t like it, but I think it has a lot of merit. I think as well you’ve got to understand and accept the perimeters of a motion picture. These films are made for the very broadest demographics and it’s got to tick all the boxes. I think it does that job quite well. The thing is, if you watch a film on Henry The VIII, Churchill, Napoleon, or just about any historical or musical figure(s) it’s NEVER going to be a hundred percent accurate because it can’t be. Part of the deal is that you suspend (a certain amount) of reality. I think for absolute accuracy all one can do is look at any real life footage or watch the documentaries or read as many books as possible. I think the job of the motion picture is to serve a slightly different purpose. Oh I'm not talking about the accuracy, I just think it's a bad film. Nearly every line made me cringe. The accuracy is a whole other story of course. An MJ film will be as accurate as the Queen one I'd imagine.

Kimberly Hardin is the directing casting. she was the same woman who did it Searching for Neverland. so in my opinion if you enjoyed Searching for Neverland, you probably will enjoy this too. i thought Searching for Neverland was alright. I find this worrying actually. I really hope they are not going to go the "we need to find an impersonator to play MJ" direction rather than finding a great actor to play him. I'm sorry but Navi playing him was cringe. We need better standards than this C list movie level. The actor playing Elvis in the new movie looks nothing like Elvis but being a good actor is more important for these type of movies than nailing the look to the T. I have learned that she also did the casting for The Jacksons: An American Dream, which IMO was good. So that gives me back my hope a bit.

The life of The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will be portrayed in the film "Michael", produced by Graham King, winner of three Oscars and producer of 'Bohemian Rhapsody', which adapted Freddy Mercury and the band Queen. John Branca, co-executor of Michael Jackson's Estate through his social networks revealed that the biopic will be epic. "Michael Jackson's legacy will live forever, the greatest artist that ever lived. Berry Gordy and I are very excited about the biopic, along with Graham King and my partner, co-producer John Mclain. This biopic will be epic. The godfather of biographical films, people have no idea what's coming...'' The film's screenplay will be in charge of John Logan, screenwriter nominated for an Academy Award for "Gladiator", "The Aviator" and "Hugo". Distributed by Lionsgate, there is still no preview for "Michael". https://www.instagram.com/p/Cme4U86sLDT

Caleb McLaughlin is amazing in Stranger Things. If that rumor is true then there may be some hope for this movie yet.

Unlike you guys, I’m glad the movie is happening, I just don’t know how the allegations will be addressed and hoping they’re not. I think this is important right now since the individuals in the estate aren’t getting any younger and witnessed history with mj
