I don't think we can access the Russia Today website anymore, but I was keeping an eye on it at work the over the last fortnight and it's not an exaggeration to say they are trying to enfore an alternate reality over there. It's movie stuff.

She's holding up a sign that says "two words", implying the two words of "no war".

Could the blank sign symbolize peace or the surrender flag?
How outrageous and heartbreaking millions of innocent people from both sides have to pay for Putin's madness, not just Ukrainians.

Could the blank sign symbolize peace or the surrender flag? How outrageous and heartbreaking millions of innocent people from both sides have to pay for Putin's madness, not just Ukrainians. I saw something about this earlier and it seems to be influenced by an old soviet joke:
A man hands out printouts on Red Square. He's then arrested. Once at the police station, the officers realize that his leaflets were empty. He says "Everyone knows what the problem is, so why bother writing it down?"
Protesters in Hong Kong did similar a few years ago too:

On the one hand it's worrying if China gets involved. On the other hand the very fact Russia needs to ask for help from China, also from Arab countries (16,000 soldiers mainly from Russian ally Syria) is pretty embarrassing for the myth surrounding the "mighty" Russian army. There's a lot of loss of prestige they are running into with this war. The only thing that keeps them among superpowers is their nuclear weapons, it seems.
As for China, I hope they will have the good sense of staying away, if for nothing else then for their own commercial interests in the West, which are bigger than those in Russia.
China has been kind of wishy-washy so far. They blame the West for the conflict, but they didn't fully stand behind Russia either. I think two Chinese banks even pulled out of Russia.

This is from 10 years ago, but it shows how nobody in Russia dares to assert themselves to Putin.
He's very clearly the Don. Along with the other recent video of his cabinet minister, it shows his extremely strong grip on his people psychologically.

Another scary fact about Putin is his complete loss of touch with reality. This is an interview that was published yesterday by a Hungarian podcast. The woman interviewed is Kyra Yarmish, the spokesperson of Alexei Navalny (opposition leader who Putin tried to poison and is now in prison in Russia). ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kira_Yarmysh ) The part I was referring to in the first sentence is from 15:40.
